I agree LarryBling - The biggest causes for inflation, according to the data, are very clear... it's inflation in services sector businesses. This presumably means one, or both, of the following two things:
1. In response to falling input costs services sectors are not yet passing on the savings (presumably to boost their balance sheets).
2. Productivity is still not yet meaningfully improving in the service sector. Due to many services businesses still not having confidence to invest and so they're just employing more staff to maintain service delivery (rather than existing employees being better aided to deliver more, through benefiting from investment into more efficient systems/processes).
The media will make a massive deal over paying doctors, nurses, teachers and other Gov staff more money but ultimately the data is really clear on this... the bulk of the inflation problem is located in services businesses.
