Aim - It's certainly seeming that CPI has buying pressure whenever the SP dips below £3.40p so £3.41 currently looking a decent shout tbf.

Personally, all will know my poor view of the CPI performance thus far...

However, I don't look at this item cynically. I think CPI probably have to communicate the component part of the business which has seen a big recent change, equally they have to do so without accusations of any SP manipulation ahead of the sensitive upcoming FY2025 results.

By explaining what's happened in relation to the FY2024 figs I think they can tick the box of having been clear in their comms, and simultaneously stay well clear of any such accusations potentially arising (by leaving it up to investors as to the assumptions they subjectively may or may not make).

Agree that any losses CBL&P was causing will equally drop off from the books. However, I'd recommend cautious on assuming that'll immediately lead to profit improvements because IMV that's subject to the performance of what will be left of the rest of the business and we know there have been additional fines, expenses for the cost-cutting programme of work and CPI still has a lot of staff when considering the work the business outputs. So many variables here (hence the SP volatility - which would have been even worse without the recent re-rate tbf)...

So... for me what is now in question are the new sales (CPI went into 2025 with really low rates) and the renewal rates (news of renewals suggests this may hold up in line or a little ahead of expectations, there have been some notable announcements on the renewals front).

I am even more confident of CPI seeing FY2025 revenues dip below £2bn but... recognise it might sneak in just a wafer thin slice above that £2bn marker (it's not impossible- just improbable IMO).

So all in all I still maintain my ~£2bn guidance. As for profit/loss/FCF those look mega challenging to forecast. However, I reckon they'll surprise to the downside of guidance IMV - DYOR

Well for starters any revenues the CBL&P generated will fall off from the results, RNS appears to be confirming this to be the case.

Tbf - I agree there is an open opportunity in that for CPI to turn the situation right around. IF they can pull that off then I would imagine there would be both PR win and a SP +ve benefit but... it's a big IF and currently I don't think CPI are winning the PR or the actual battle. Only time will tell though, never say never.

Angelis - Given my SSPG average is sitting lower than £1.60p I'm not worried if some of those gaps you claim are present should decide to come into view.

Trisor you're hugely mistaken - I am not a shorter or an affiliated membership of either a company or business either. I truly am a small time private investor and these nonsense conspiracy theories you come out with are frankly utterly ridiculous. I'm not here to cause trouble at all. I'm being completely honest with my view of CPI as a small time private investor. Hopefully one day I'll be making a mint from my long time research of shares and the markets but that will not be today .

Dartron - Agree, and the thing is with disinflation here in UK now in full swing & BoE feeling rising pressure to play catch up on rate cuts ✂️... well, it makes it more likely £ will weaken. So a solid business like GBG may find itself a takeover target (by foreign buyer). Or the BOD could opt (as they've been fairly sensible fiscally speaking - all things considered) to take on some borrowing to invest & accelerate the growth of the business. Personally, with rate cuts & falling savings rates, I'd rather have my money in stocks - should others join in too it may trigger a UK bull run 🐂🏁 within 0-9 months.

A long while back I shared my view the BoE Governor Bailey would be behind the curve... and now today - with disinflation picking up pace - A Peelhunt economist has shared this on X (shared by Guardian News):

"Clear downward trend in UK headline inflation towards the BoE's 2% target. Looking at annualised data, which gives a better measure of current price pressures, the BoE is now undershooting its target. Given known lags with monetary policy, the clear risk now is that the bank has fallen behind the curve and will need to play catch up - skewing risks towards more than the two cuts money markets see for this year"

Simpiles - That's the thing, many companies failing to deliver like to overcomplicate matters... it's always someone or something else's fault. Thing is CPI took over the MyCSP contact and now it's performing much much worse. That is a simple fact, proven by the escalations of cases to PMQ's and the many additional staff now being drafted to work towards turning things around. CPI took the contract over, and things have gone downhill. It just is that simple. What remains to be seen, is can CPI achieve the goal of turning things around? Or not? - Only time will tell on that one.

Interesting HHH81 - I recall a long while back you were berating me for my views on CPI, and yet now you're seemingly in admission your time waiting for CPI to come good has indeed been wasted.

Trisor - I did explain it was a joke, immediately after I told it the first time around lol - I think I recall second set of results I actually had booked the day off (purely a co-incidence mind, and not some sort of elaborate cunning plan/scheme to influence the stock market)! As obvs. there is absolutely no way I have that level of power haha
