Spain in crisis and wants to opt out of EU electricity pricing. One of the biggest benefits of renewables (and Spain has abundant sun and wind) is no energy dependency. Gas prices affected by Russia etc causing electricity prices to soar. Our dependency on other countries to build nuclear power stations is lunacy imho and completely contrary to Brexit independence principles as well yet still being pushed by Doris.

Germany seems most likely given the projects already underway there, especially if they go ahead with h2 blending into gas grid. Refuelling infrastructure in Germany already well advanced too. Factories in other countries should quickly follow during the next decade.

One for the weekend

Ordering new nuclear will go down in history as a serious blunder imho like Iraq, Afghanistan and Brexit Referendum with simple majority - other countries require higher threshold for referendum results with significant fiscal impact.

And we are ordering new nuclear power stations. Why are we so arrogant, stupid and unable to assess risk properly?

Somme Generals mentality.....when price of renewables is plummeting and we could do sensible things like this instead (using h2 for storage of course..)

It needs to change to Global Climate Disaster War Room - the language matters...... not a chat show.

Plus the billions they pour into nuclear will not produce a return until the power stations are commissioned in a decade or more vs renewables which can be much more rapidly productive and provide huge and widespread employment opportunities and transferable skills. Here we go again with energy dependency - when will they ever learn - it is not rocket science!!
