At under 150p 'cum divd' right now, we're already 'cheaper than chips' yielding 15% odd - the new CEO takes charge in a fortnight's time and one can only hope he and the revamped BoD have something dramatic in hand to address the situation, like genuinely having an overseas target in mind, to restore confidence ; sentiment is all with these AIM shs, as we all know... sasa.

Hi bohercom - I've put the long delay in confirming the 'partnering' outcome down to so many, apparently, unsolicited interested parties showing their interest in us; these will inevitably take more time than usual to work through, post Barclays' assistance in this regard but even so, 12 months is a long time to sort the 'wheat from the chaff'...

The delay has been undermining sentiment, of course but with the sp reflecting that, any decent arrangement, if and when it's announced, should prompt a decent rebound. If, however, AV's considering an offer for the co, bearing in mind he's a big holder, well, say no more...

At least, there's no premium to evaporate upon either revelation; hopefully, a 'non event' isn't the outcome, otherwise pekingduck's sober analysis looks all the more chastening - sasa.

Like you, it's frustrating that, despite the Co's progress on the production front and encouraging development / exploration news, the sp remains pretty friendless, even now, as we await the outcome of the various partnering negotiations which are still ongoing, we're told. These have been underway for a year now which we're assured 'are going well'...

Given the profundity of the outcome, let's hope our patience will be rewarded to see a material re-rating of the shares, at last - sasa.

Hopefully, AV's long awaited RNS on the partnering negotiations will give our sp a significant boost into the limelight to prompt an overdue re-rating, given the assets and potential here - sasa.

Hi RELLIM - you've got a good memory - I've been in HBR, too, as a 'counterweight' to my overweight position in Serica over the past two years or so, as I still think that quality 0&G stocks have good growth potential but Serica offers little to commend it now, pre the Election, unless the new CEO has something surprising up his sleeve for us long suffering holders.

Ergo, running on with an increased involvement with HBR, at the expense of SQZ if it continues to disappoint, looks a better prospect to redress matters over time, although being significantly overweight in any one position is something I rarely do as it needs closely watching, of course.

Hi flexmw - with the likes of Ed Milliband, whose business nous is zero, the Election outcome is looking increasingly ominous and the new CEO must be acutely aware of that, so I'd say about a month remaining if nothing is forthcoming.

It's such a shame that nothing's been done so far to address the political risk here; the divd hikes over the past year or two are about the only positive I can think of, post the controversial Tailwind acquisition / Mercuria's unhealthy voting influence nowadays, etc.,

An encouraging RNS might yet be issued in good time but I'm not holding my breath - sasa.

Agreed, Thebold - the BoD have been naively unimaginative, post ACW's proactive BKR deal but much of that sp

transformative 'lustre' has been subsequently squandered, unfortunately, as evidenced by the ex-growth 13% yield rating we're now saddled with.

If the 'new broom' in charge can't change the mkt's perception of us by being proactive henceforth, a better involvement for continuing exposure to the important energy sector to me, looks to be Harbour Energy under much better management where so much more is ongoing right now.

With about 50 / 50 oil & gas, a fast growing emphasis overseas and already on the main mkt, ticks the right boxes, imv, where a 2 : 1 SQZ / HBR swop currently applies. Once XD, that's what I'll be considering in 'getting out from under' this stale Serica situation if nothing changes... sasa.

I guess, with the increasing demand for 'tech metals' today, which weren't so prevalent previously when the $50k per ton 'high' for tin was reached a few years ago, double that could yet be seen...

Such would certainly galvanise Andrada's sp at last and put an end to all the supposed 'sales' confounding us, even if Mark Thompson's 'half right' which would be very gratifying in itself!

I think your summation of where we're at right now with Serica is a pretty good assessment, DTP...

Whilst the stats underpinning the depressed sp are impressive, sentiment needs a boost to get interest going again and especially so where NS energy producers are concerned. The new management team seems to recognise this at last and if an overseas deal is genuinely being worked on, such an RNS should provide it.

Later on a move off AIM would surely accentuate any improving trend, too....

A 'longer shot' possibility is that whichever party forms the next government, they might well row back from the absurd tax regime imposed on such a critical asset as our domestic energy production, given the expedient need to pander to the 'green lobby' before the election.

Wishful thinking on my part, quite possibly but politicians of all hues have a habit of promising anything to get elected but once in office, 'things change in the national interest' necessitating a deferral of many manifesto commitments and they have five years to be forgiven for it!

That's my best hope, short term, anyway - sasa.

Hi Richy - I think it's the other way round isn't it? The profitable tin production (approx $10k per ton currently) subsidises the lithium production / output now coming on stream for 'free' which is the 'cherry on top' that AV alludes to...

Either way, the catalyst to get the sp finally going is the 'partnering news' RNS that we're all waiting for, of course - it's gotta be fairly close now since it was announced some 12 months ago, surely? - sasa.

It would be nice to see an OID, like an Overseas Investment Decision shortly to protect our Co's prospects and get the SP off the deck - they've been promising as much, for ages before Starmer, Milliband and Reeves can employ their inept plans to completely ruin our domestic energy resources; surely the new BoD can see that? - sasa.
