Yes, the delay in the much 'hyped' partnering negotiations has led to frustration by most holders with the recent decline in Tin and lithium prices not helping, psychologically, either but neither normally warrants a 60% fall in the sp like we've seen.

Could the considerable, seemingly orchestrated, chunky sales of shs on almost a daily basis we've seen these past few months have largely caused it? If so, why might that be?

Only one other poster on here has picked up on this point as far as I'm aware and I wonder whether others might care to comment on this negative influence or otherwise? - sasa.

So, the first thing to do in improving mkt perception of this absurdly undervalued situation we find ourselves in, is to get off AIM, asap...

Okay, it would cost more to get onto the main mkt, in terms of listing expenses and greater regulation to contend with but it would get us noticed / more researched to highlight how cheap Serica is, given its strong financial position / balance sheet, etc.,

I bet there are very few main mkt investors who realise a near 'bomb proof' 18% yielder is readily available to secure and ahead of a decline in interest rates, etc., the total return potential should be a good deal better than most, especially when SQZ finally does something to counter the negativity towards it in being a totally North Sea 'upstream' energy producer.

It would also facilitate an overseas deal (certainly my preference ) rather than still run on in the face of Labour's idiotic plans to emasculate our domestic O&G production - sasa

Hi NewK - I don't think so, as it's an 'automatic' income redeployment (not, therefore, a capital transaction at the behest of the director/ employee of the Co) and I took the RNS today to be a capital transaction by DL.

That's a good, patient stab at trying to answer Martin's impossible question, bohercom. If we knew the answer to it specifically, of course, there wouldn't be a mkt! - sasa.

Buy foreign and buy big" - couldn't agree more with that to restore Serica's 'mojo' dick; we've been banging on about this obvious solution for yonks now to resolve this lamentable valuation currently and surely the new team in charge must have this in hand, if they're half as good as they claim!

Anyway, in anticipation of quite a few peeps reinvesting their chunky final divd in buying more shs at this 'knock down' price tomorrow (if they've got any sense), I've just added to my holding this morning beforehand - hoping 'the early bird' and all that, will prove timely... sasa.

Hi Nozzleblast - I certainly agree Serica did very well up until a couple of years ago but they lost their mojo afterwards, as the sp sadly illustrates. Now on a 17% yield and a single multiple, the shs are in the sub - basement, as they failed to adapt to the EPL implications and the need, more significantly, to do something / anything about obviating the labour threat to most NS energy producers, unlike Harbour, for instance, which has already neatly side-stepped much of it.

The 'old guard' and its parochial policy has gone, fortunately and one can only hope that the new team does more than just 'talk the talk' as they did. If they do, then Serica's sp today should rebound significantly from here but will they?

I've been in this one for a long time now and have considered adding to an already overweight position in it several times, cos it's been so oversold, especially now but I fear it'll remain so, if the new CEO doesn't 'grasp the nettle' at last - sasa.

"Serica's management has an exemplar track record of creating value" - you've got to be joking, Nozzleblast, if the performance of the sp is anything to go by these past two years - down from 450p to 130p odd today - that's a decline of 70%!

This reflects the recently ousted management team being besotted by their exclusive NS ops / not seeing the need to lessen that preoccupation by diversifying overseas before the Labour 'wrecking crew' were moving in to destroy our domestic energy production.

One can only hope that the new BoD proves to be a 'breath of fresh air' to give the sp a much needed / long overdue uplift - sasa.

AV looked tired / somewhat harassed, if anything and not inspiring with it being very robotic and with nothing new for existing holders, it was quite disappointing, really. The interviewer was amateurish, too, just replying "got it" each time AV replied to the few innocuous questions put to him when he was clearly 'out of his depth' with limited communication skills, one has to say...

In short, a complete waste of time - sasa.

Totally agree, DTP - one hopes the new BoD genuinely have an overseas acquisition in mind and beyond that, moving off AIM, rather than just talking about being proactive henceforth. After all, it's not 'rocket science' in today's conditions!

Without such pragmatism, Serica's poor perception, exemplified by the exceptional stats you cite, will persist to the detriment of all shareholders, I fear - sasa.

Hi CCC - thanks for your further comments - 'fair do's' on your reading things more positively than my observations recently - specifically with reference to the reasons behind the weakness of the sp so far this year...

I see that bohercom has usefully posted an interesting take on the possible reasons for the sustained selling pressure we've seen of late; some of it, anyway. If true, that's helpful and appreciated - we're all invested here for the same reason, after all, hoping that our involvement proves well justified in the event - sasa.

Hi CCC - I've just seen TDT's reply to your earlier post which is pretty comprehensive - it's invariably healthy to air both sides of shareholders' views and why they're held.

As far as the all too regular stream of share sales we've seen over the past few months is concerned, any CEO is almost precluded from commenting on such mkt trends under the rules - quite so. They do have ways of investigating such activities, though, without having to disclose their findings and, hopefully, AV has this in hand.

It is disconcerting , nevertheless, to see what appears to be a sustained effort to either suppress the sp for, a) possibly tactical reasons by a third party or parties to undervalue the mkt cap prior to the 'partnering discussions' being concluded for valuation purposes (which is illegal 'market rigging') or, b) signalling something else which better informed folk than us shareholders are aware of, giving rise to it. That's the greater concern...

Either way, it's an ominous development, imv and until we know what's behind it, anxiety will persist, as TDT rightly points out... That's my take on things at this stage, anyway - sasa.

Were it not for the new government's 'hostility' towards our own domestic energy production, I don't doubt Serica would already be an obvious T/O target, given it's as 'cheap as chips' right now but that's highly improbable in consequence.

We can but hope for some 'lenience' from Starmer's initial attitude once reality is addressed to lift Serica's sp but such 'hopes' aren't enough in this situation; we need a definitive move by the new BoD away from this total domestic involvement to give SQZ a new 'lease of life' henceforth - sasa.

"Move on if you're not happy", you suggest, raxfactor but it isn't easy finding an alternative to Serica's current 17% yield / low p/e, decent cash content / strong balance sheet etc., unless you know of such overt value on offer elsewhere?

Even if they halved the divd next time, perhaps to help finance an overseas deal, like HBR (which I'm in, too) is sorely needed to get the sp off the floor from here, imv. Then, a solid 8% yield, say, + a likely sharp price recovery, would make for a juicy total return henceforth, in stark contrast to the huge de-rating we've suffered these past couple of years - sasa.
