Been looking through the accounts of some of the companies as I wasn't aware previously that quite a few of the companies post accounts with business reports.

One portfolio company that stood out was Reading based company Displaydata, which I had never really looked at previously. They make electronic shelf labels for major retail stores , which they are selling internationally including to the US and Europe.

2021 revenue was $31m with a $500k loss. Purely by extending rollouts to existing clients they predict 2022 revenue of $100m and they landed a big German DIY chain in July.

It looks like they haven't raised capital for over 5 years and have been funded by bank loans.

There is a filling from last year that says that Esprit Nominees (Draper Esprit) own over 25%.

I just bought some on A J Bell.

HL are treating it as a UCIT when it's not.

I initially thought that much of the decline was due to short selling as there was such a high volume of automated trades and some kind of calibration with US tech stocks also driving the sells.

However, I think many of the auto trades are the result of ftse index tracker funds outflows.

The 250 is down nearly 30% since the start of the year. I think this feeds into our dip as the required autosells to meet tracker fund withdrawals are magnified here due to the low volumes of Molten stock that is traded.

I really don't think the drop is down to people rationally selling out because they don't like Molten. We have not had any TR1s showing reductions in holdings from the main funds invested here.

It's the hedging of gilts that is causing the problems.

Some have under hedged and are getting big margin calls and having to firesale their liquid assets.

This is a Solvency question and I don't think the gilt buying will work.

More here from Sky. I don't know enough about Phoenix finances but just aware that their business is based on buying up closed book DB schemes. The issue is with the hedges. If their assets were concentrated in property then illiquid no?

I am not that surprised by the Graphcore sales. They are still at a very early stage of commercialisation.

They have got their UK crypto license approved
