Wealth redistribution… yes people work hard to spend ir save their money as they see fit. But there comes a point when those with enough money don’t have to do much to make more money (a few clicks to buy or sell…) - and we all know the wealthy have gotten wealthier.

Perhaps we should look at this as a correction. Maybe some will see it as an over-correction. And it might be. In the meantime change can bring opportunities. I wish I knew what they will be! GLA

You’ll find plenty of views regarding this “latest” “game-changer”…. Where is the actual product? I gave up on his channel last year as he just regurgitates press releases with little or no critical assessment.

And unless you’ve some new physics, the energy density of sodium batteries will always be less than lithium batteries. Just look up your school text book on the periodic table…

There are many alternatives to Li batteries, sodium being one.

Lithium battery market (2023) $54bn - forecasts of above $250bn by 2030

Sodium battery market (2023) $0.5bn - forecasts of $1.2bn in the same timeframe.

Of course these are but predictions. And sure there could be a Nokia v Apple moment or perhaps, more likely, a diesel v petrol scenario.

Nature abhors a vacuum - and aim investors hate silence.

Maybe silence means something catastrophic is afoot.

Or maybe no news means… there’s no news.

It would be good to hear from the board - but would a “reassurance” be interpreted as reassuring?

Maybe they can update us on when the parliament refurb is due.

For a small “city runabout” that only needs to go 10-15 miles a day, a sodium battery would be sufficient - and the battery, therefore vehicle, would be cheaper.

Of course if you need a car for longer distance - or because the kids need the safety for the 1 mile drive to school in a status symbol - then the energy density (and premium) of Li batteries will win-out.

Years - decades - of underfunding has got Britain to where it is now.

As to pensioners, they’ve had the triple-lock, so the £400 they’ve had taken away is less than the increase they’ve had this financial year and last. Swings and roundabouts.

I don’t support Labour and I think the Cons had gone on far too long and were corrupt. Change brings opportunities.

One way of looking at it is the wealthy got wealthier in recent years, so a ‘correction’ is required. And/or it’s just the usual swing back and forth between the “left” and the “right”. The middle is always squeezed. And the worried well/wealthy will complain no matter what.

In a way one might consider IHT isn’t significant enough. I mean, why would inheritance encourage the feckless offspring of the wealthy to do anything productive, if they can hang around and receive a large “benefit” for doing nothing 😉. Where’s the incentive to work hard?
