Looks like buy the rumour sell the fact to me. Also, and please don’t get upset but there is only an 8% chance of an AIM company successfully going in to production. So professionals trade the feck out of these type of volatile stocks. Got caught out on 88e , traded the proverbial out of this and have got my money back. Lots of people were looking to cash in on a decent gain - and they did. But short term Sp movements make no difference to the eventual end game. Lesson is if you have bought long term then You shouldn’t be concerned by the price action today. If you have bought for short term profit why did you spurn today’s gain? I am very happy with UKOG. Hi Sko and guitar, I have posted recently on Advfn. You are right Guitar - very hard work. In terms of zinc it wasn’t That they got a bad price ,remember they sell zinc in concentrate. It was that grades were lower. I was told that this will not be repeated in the 2nd half. Zinc prices remain the elephant in the room with the correlation of the Sp,to the zinc price uncanny. People forget that professionals use forward P/E ratios so if you assume that output is a constant then the zinc price is easy to factor in . The big fall in zinc accounts for the fall as well as the rise in the Sp. My view is that the BOD are playing Chinese patience in terms of mine development. Similarly it suited them personally to do a final dividend post their option award. Lots of factors at work here but the expansion strategy remains intact combined with fiscal prudence. Current zinc weakness may be a positive since it will discourage mines being opened. I hope that post USA mid terms the Spat between China and the US will calm down.

Hi Guitar, cd etc are over on Advfn. I was looking at last years figures we had net cash outflow of $50.9m from debt servicing and repayment. We are now debt free. Also it wasn’t just about zinc because gold and silver mined increased substantially. We now need to develop zone 2 and invest more in infrastructure if we are going to maximise the opportunity. I suggested to Roger that a sustainable dividend of 4p per share looked about right at this stage and struck a good balance. He did not comment but I await the results in early August with anticipation. Shame that the fall in zinc prices will temper the tone but long term that may prove to be a bonus.

I found that I was holding 1.5m shares at a cost of minus 7k. I now hold 3m because I couldn’t resist buying more sub 2p today. This share is fun. It has lots of news flow. Won’t go bust due to recent placing. Has high volume, no stamp duty and a small spread. I will continue to buy the dips and sell peaks whilst accumulating more and more shares. For the unitiated the Sp bears no correlation to underlying value. It is all about sentiment which ebbs and flows. It is sad to see many here laying their soul bare having paid too high a price. However, the good news is that whilst traders like me will I have their sport eventually this should come good and those who bought at 10p should make money. If you can’t trade your way out of a loss then sit on it. But do not abuse those that are here just to make money. I am here for the long term but in the meantime lots of 20-30% gains have been most welcome. Aim is not investment for explorers. It is a casino. In this casino though the dice is rolled many times and patience can be rewarded.

I think you need to read the RNS. Shares tradeable from 9/7/18. Then look at average daily volume this month of 283m.
Then do some simple math! The professionals sold days ago it is PI's that are trading now. In the world of a professional buy for 2p sell for 2.30 = 15% . That will do nicely. Professionals are trying to make 5% plus in a year for their clients so a 15% profit in a week or two is a wonderful bonus.

The level of posting on this board remains appalling. Why anyone would wish to expose total lack of research in a public place continues to amaze me. To be clear the 350m shares have been tradeable since 9/7/2018.The average daily volume this month has been 283m (comprised of buys and sells). It follows that there has already been ample opportunity to trade the shares especially with the SP above 2p throughout. Also 1m shares at 2.1p is only 21k. Many PI's have the ability to trade in 20k chunks.The professionals will have already taken profits it is the actions of PI's that are moving the SP now.

Swallow I do not believe myself to be stupid and have used the dip to further increase my holdings. There are good things on the horizon including the results, a probable dividend and the license. The big negative is the sudden fall in the zinc price since GFM is a geared play on zinc. BUT GFM was never priced to reflect the good news. The company remains extremely well managed and the BOD hold large amounts of shares. Looking at zinc warehouse stocks are not rising rapidly. Also China's production figures were more positive than feared. If zinc tanks then the SP will fall and the trade war may cause this. But we are debt free, also mine gold and my expectation is that the fall in zinc is temporary. looking further forward my understanding from years ago is that at some point GFM will be sold and the license will lead to double production. I may trade some but I intend to stay here long term.

Love the Sage and onion. I guess the bit that most people don't get is that I am actually an honest trader. The vast bulk of my portfolio is tucked up safely and ticking over at a boring 5-6%. I hold 20% in cash waiting for the USA to fall and the balance is a speculative gamble (5%). Like most I try to be disciplined but every now and then I lack discipline. The point is that when I follow charts and buy dips and sell spikes I make money. When I don't and let myself believe the hype I end up with paper losses. The point is though that it is a long term game and I know that it is very rare that if I revert to strategy I will come out losing and overall I always make money. There is a saying that only a liar always buys at the bottom and sells at the top. I very often find myself trading out of a losing position as I did with GFM, SXX and UKOG with good gains. AMC and 88e remain work in progress, actually they have many similarities but I expect to do ok on both.

Reaper what you don't get is that no one invests unless they like the company and expect to be around long term . It is just that to make money requires trading. I bought GFM originally at £1.10 in 2006. It fell to circa 25p. It was recently £1.60 and I hold over 400,000 shares with many with a B/E of under 30p. I am a LTH but have needed to trade!

FWIW I am not angry with Brom and Garrym. I am angry with myself for listening and being influenced. I will be fine, I will trade myself out of this. What angers me most though is the lack of respect given to those who trade despite the fact that in 9/10 cases that is the only way to make money on AIM. Buy the dip sell the spike and maybe hold a bit for the dream. Today I sold my last tranche of UKOG at 2.85. The question is what do i do tomorrow? I put in a buy at 2.25 but did not get lucky....the game goes on, it never ends until you die....41 years of trading and still learning

livin financial advice is defined as recommending a particular product (RO1 course book regulation and ethics). Selling some shares is not product related.

NOeasy the objective is not to make the board a success. The objective is to make money. The loyalty displayed to those who have got it so wrong at the expense of everyone is shocking. I correctly analysed things a few weeks back saying that the RNS = delay and that DW was not telling the truth. He said things were "as expected" when things were clearly well behind schedule and more complex than expected. The clowns (experts) here shouted me down and everyone gave them a pile of green flags! I gave DW the benefit of the doubt in that I thought things were delayed.

Chartman, I am no fan of Lefty due to his choice of language and tone on occasion. However, like him or loathe him his posts were written in real time. If you acted on his posts and put Bombards Garryms in the bin (however well intentioned) you would now be making money. This is an inconvenient truth. Aim is about trading. So called experts who are not at the coal face and are therefore making guesstimates are dangerous.

Brom with respect you are a poster who has traded in and out whilst extolling how wonderful the company is . I read several of your posts but did not read any recommending trading, taking profits etc whilst all the time you were doing so yourself. So when you describe yourself as flabbergasted it should say chastened by those who have your number. On SXX we had a poster who knew the inside out of a bulls backside when it came to mining but was toxic when it came to making money. Note to all readers if you are not here to make money what on earth are you here for ?

Redirons sadly belief should be confined to the church/mosque or whatever. Making money is a war of attrition, a ruthless game played out where there are no prisoners.You still thank those who assisted you in arriving at your current position. In contrast I kick myself for listening to them and ignoring my traders gut to take profits at 2.6/2.5/2.4 etc. In contrast with UKOG I have ignored the "experts", watched the hype, watched the trading range and made money by trading. I will now do that here. I am fortunate in that I have a massive budget and for me it is just a game. For others their misplaced hopes may have been devastating. If I buy another 8m shares at under 1p and sell 16m at 1.5p. I will break even. Its just a game for me. I think that this does have good prospects but short term possibly only 3p now as opposed to the £1 dream. Previously I thought 5 p short term. Short term AIM = 12 months

Lastly I would say to all the so called experts who talk down to us traders - "really"!

I would just like to say to Garrym and Brombard that your posts amount to amongst the most wealth destroying posts that i have ever read. In contrast had we all followed the much maligned Lefty we would all be making money. My error here was simple . I thought that 2.9 was a false barrier due to the placing and set my sell at 3.25p. I was happy with a 50/50 on IW2 given the other opportunities. Also with a 2p buy in I was pretty relaxed. I put in an auto buy today at 0.95p (like I did last year) but it did not get filled. I expect a new trading range <1p to 2p. 100% trading range!. It will take patience and it will get dirty but money is there to be made.

I would remind people that the ball is still in play and DW's placing at 2.1p now looks astute. There remains plenty for people to get excited about and therefore plenty of opportunity for volatility. Forget the Cr*p spouted by the self appointed experts who have led you down the garden path and trade your way out. If it helps I was 18k down on UKOG and closed out today net 15k up. I have an average here of 2p and 8.25m shares and am thus over 80k down on paper. I do not expect to lose money here and neither should you. There is a common thread to all my gains - trading! GLA

Hi Banjo what I would agree with is that the word “investment” simply does not apply to many of the strategies displayed on this site. That also applies to me ! Of my 8.25m shares I hope to trade 7.25m such that only 1m are left in the game. I did that with my core GFM holding such that it is 165,000 shares with a buying in price of minus 35p. I hold a further 250,000 at a B/e of £1.07 but these are for trading. The objective is to replicate this situation with Ukog and 88e but you never win them all and the GFM position took 10 years of research and hard trading to achieve. These stocks are harder because unlike GFM they keep diluting the shareholder value with massive capital raising.

Totally agree Guzzler. The bun fight is utterly ridiculous and unnecessary. I forgot to say that I originally bought this last year at over 3p then it tanked and I bought at 0.9p and sold at 1.6p last year to de-risk. The bulk of my holdings have been bought this year. My view on this has always been that IW2 is a 50/50 but that there would be a number of opportunities here to trade. We expect news on Yukon, farm ins, conventional and 3D. Also DW is an opportunist who wants to “cream the curve” and all this in an environment of rising oil prices. In the meantime we have irrational sentiment at work making this stock a traders dream. At this stage I am the wrong side of the trade but the ball is in play and I have lots of spare powder. Putting things in perspective I was reading an investment textbook . The FCA definition of a short term investment is 5 years! Puts some of the comments here into perspective. The behaviour here resembles a casino. No strategy, little research just blind gambling. The difference is that when I gamble I don’t blame other people if I lose.
