RE: Covid related patents13 May 2021 09:18
Good morning Celtic. No problem. I got out my tree a bit. So apologies to all for that.
With regards to Ahfams question of news of patent.
A European patent has been granted for SDC 1801 .We Know.
We are at a phase now where we have been before ie. pre trial and hence now must be candidate selection. Normally, one candidate selected from the most promising is put foward for trials. Due to the current situation with the pandemic ( cost aside) there is no reason why a 2nd candidate ( specially tweaked for Covid
19 ) can not be put into trials. May be along the lines of 1801 and 1801C. There is scope within the compound to tweak for maximun effect. How to do so or adjust to fit I don't have a clue.
Speculation now. Not only may the molecule be able to halt the cytokine storm but a tweaked version, also promote/ promise full recovery.
Previously with Sareum and will refer to FLT 3 here , the compound had a couple of improvements made to the selectivity of the compound . We were informed before trials went ahead, of this particular candidate being selected and the reasoning behind it. There is no reason why Sareum will not do this again.
So to answer Ahfams question. My thoughts are that we will receive news ie patented molecule 1801 and a molecule adjusted or tweaked more favourably for treatment of Covid.
On a positive note here. Take the stage we are at with Tyk2 Jak1 inhibitor in autoimmune. There is enough known now about Covid 19, such that now is the optimum time to cross the t's and dot the eyes so as to speak with a Tyk2 Jk 1 inhibitor. Candidate selection RNS would not go amiss.
