at 0.97 and immediately broker raised his price ideas showing how thin a market this is. (not the £60 purchase !). If you look on the KLK site you will see that they already view PAL as a subsidiary....

I really admire your enthusiasm and hate to rain on your parade but the simple fact is that PAL needs to buy in more ffb so it can expand its CPO production. I wholly agree it has a the infrastructure in place and good backers but it really does need to produce more oil. At present they are not averaging 4000mt ffb month. KLK in Malaysia and Indonesia processes some 4 million tonnes of ffb annually. so PAL is a very small cog in its wheel.

He can afford to pay over the market price...

Boothy, am not seeing that problem although I cannot get a specific price for say 500,000 to buy, broker then wants me to allow him ''on a best effort basis'', which I am always disinclined to do. But 100-200,000 parcels are no problem.

As one of the biggest CPO producers in the world KLK has had RSPO accreditation since 2004 for most of its production. Maybe I am wrong but I seem recall that PAL too has qualified for this certificate.

to Carre and others who managed get in around the 1p level. I missed out this time around as was hoping to buy around the 0.75 level. Still despair at the wide spread as when could buy at 0.98 I could only sell at 0.75

But calm down a little Carre otherwise people will think you are simply ramping. PAL is a very small producer averaging under 1000mt cpo/month. Doubt whether we will see any more export shipments comparable to the last one until early 2020. I will probably be buying in again but not when the spread remains as wide as it is at the moment. good luck
