Has anybody got any further news about the POG buy out.???
There was a mention that POLY MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN A STAKE.
Is that the case or was that a just another rumour going around??

Its our own fault. We have have an appetite for cheap goods and services from china and others in the area.
We have been doing this way before the Thatcher era at the cost of not investing in our own industries. We have now become so dependant on foreign goods that we dont feel any pride in our own manufacturing capabilities.
Succesive administrations haven't been able to reverse the trend.

If it wasnt for the UK and POLAND and one or two others as well as US, Odessa would have been taken by now.

Some politician has commented this morning that the west will have given 300 billion in aid and military support before any negotiated deal is in sight in UKR.
Now this is what I fail to understand as there is no logic whatsoever.
Why wait till more funds are pumped in only to get the nogotiations started WHEN they can be started quickly and sooner.This would not only save more lives and stop the carnage which is happening on a daily basis but would save a lot of money which can be used to support the masses in the west during this economic crisis.

In a question and answer session on CNBC the CEO of citi bank has expressed her opinions and confirms a recession which will effect most of Europe bar 1 or 2 countries.
She didnt mention any countries specifically but said the geo-political situation will be largely the cause of this long drawn recession. The effects of this will be echoed on world wide markets and there is no "quick fix" or solutions unless the govts stop printing money and stop"kicking the can" down the road.More borrowing by central govts will be required at least in the short term to alleviate social/domestic pain and this means that our children/grandchilder will have to cough up all this borrowing in the orm of higher taxes plus any accrued interest.

I am now almost certain that if peace solutions to this war are not constantly and urgently sought we should see rampant inflation and this will eventually force the western economies into recession.
I don't honestly believe that this war wil continue without any end in site.The sanctions will have to be lifted to stop the "Domino effect" of more and more countries getting into uncontrollable economic difficulties.

A RNS beckons at POG. If this is true I can see pog heading for 5p PLUS. The market cap is just under 60 million and the assets are worth more than 700 million. Correct me if I am wrong.
Anything under a 5p tag and this has gone cheaply to UMMC. If the BOD has any sense this will not go cheaply.

Appreciate your frank opinion. When i first invested in pog I was of the opinion that both POLY and POG offer the same risk.
But recently my opinion has changed and I think you are absolutely right that POG is a lot risky than JRS or POLY.
But my feeling is that II's will not sit on the sidelines and let this be snapped up cheaply.
I think there might be a slight increase in the current SP to around 3-3.5 before a deal is clinched.
I will see how things develop in a couple of days as i think if this was tanking further it would have done so by now.

That doesnt look good for the ii's who bought these for 10x what they are worth if a buyout proceeds.
I hold a good chunkin pog. Do you think I should sell as on todays sp i am more or less breaking even?

Do you agree??. Also i believe its quoted higher on moex.

Does anyone have any possible suggestions as to why the pog sp has remained flat despite the possibillities of a buy-out.??

I am not a leftie either. I dont for a minute agree what russia done is right and UKR should force them out using every means. I just see the"goings on" from a different perspective. LOL
I try to be "real" and not "hopium" as some would say.

Lets get one thing absolutely clear. When inflation hits the heights its hitting now and even greater. People start voting away from populist governments. People are more concerned about how prices/ neccessitties are effecting them at the domestic level.Wether they be caused by external pressures or not. If you cant provide food on the table and those of us who are jobless find themselves in the poverty trap are quite frankly not interested wether sanctions remain or not.
THe first and primary duty of any administration is to look after its own interests and people and I am afraid if you ask any ordinary person on the street "would you rather have enough money to feed your kids or see sanctions remain" I think you know what the answer would be

Its not only in the interest of russia that sanctions should be lifted. The supply chain issues in the west caused by these sanctions will spiral to new heights and cause further inflation and stagflation. We are only beginning to see these effects as part of a second tie.
Earlier yesterday the IMF warned that the world is facing its stiffest economic challenge witnessed since WW2.
I think its time that zelensky and ukraine just consider the effects this is going to have globally and am preety certain the EU and the rest will point them in that direction.Another point is also paramount and that is I think Russia will insist that sanctions be lifted as part of a negotiated settlement. Its in the interest of all to bring this disastrous saga to an end and zelensky can be a master of peace if he pulls this one.

Spot on. and above all you need to be able to take others viewpoint and consider it seriously to move forward.
Like I have said many a times before there are no outright winners or losers here in this war. The best outcome is a ceasefire followed by a peace agreement. I think the Italians have put some serious proposals for consideration by all.
