As with everything, take with a pinch of salt, but very difficult to argue with the article.

The weekly, monthly clock keeps ticking. Will it be the same at end of February, still waiting for that news regarding a contract that actually ups the sp without the forever fallback.

It does look like it may knock the sp as any news such as this tends to start the rumour mill, but it does look to be a genuine reason other wise they do not tend to expand to where anyone leaving is going, unless its to a different company, which the news release does not mention.

Also he is clear that he would be available if required.

The following may even hint at a positive message, 'Its become clear more recently that we require a seasoned commercial and professional manager at the helm of the company'.

We have also been pushing for someone to 'sell the units'.

It will be any follow up news that will decide.

I appreciate there could be sp sensitive info in any reply, but all that I was expecting was a , 'thanks for the info' as has happened in the past.

When I posted about the massive waste dump at Killingholme (tyres/plastics), it was suggested I send the info to Keith.

I did e-mail him at the company general E-mail address.

As I have not received a reply and several posters did state he does tend to do so, does anyone have a more direct e-mail for him.

The report did say that they were looking at scaling it up for industries.

Have no idea of costing though, but to suggest it could be scaled up, I presume the cost is or will be cost effective.

If you look at many British inventions over the years you will find that after banging their heads against the brick wall of the 'pending tray' for years the inventors/inventions tend to go over seas to get backing for their products.

Several years ago, I had percentage figures for inventions produced in the UK that had achieved backing and were eventually developed in the USA, I no longer have these figures, but they were surprising.

I am invested in a company (won't name it here as I do not to ramp/de-ramp) that produces a piece of medical equipment that been proven (over 100 test reports) to save lives and money and yet the NHS is the slowest to take it up, with several none UK countries passing the companies UK targets.

UK governments tend to look at the short term cost, not the long term savings.

Not taking sides here, just trying to keep what is usually a good interesting thread going.

I sometimes disagree with posters I have previously agreed with and visa versa, but when it comes to spellings/grammar I would rather see a sensibly argued post badly spelt and full of grammatical errors than a correctly spelt and grammatically correct post full of nonsense.

I am a word dishlexik and often struggle with simple words so even a simple spell check does not always correct.

Anyway, please all keep the good posts coming, with differing views, correctly spelt or not.

I used to have a contact through the company that reported on AFC (can't remember the name now, it's an age thing) and they would pass comments suggestions through to AFC. in fact they asked for any suggestions, such as the Killingholme idea.

For a couple of years they always replied, even if it was just an acknowledgement, but the last 2 or 3 e-mails to them did not receive a reply or an acknowledgement so I gave up.

I would think though as someone commented they will (or should) have more idea of these potential sites than we do.

Last week myself and others posted on the PHE chat regarding the UK's largest waste dump site (plastics/tyres) at Killingholme Airfield North Lincs after it was mentioned on the BBC.

On the BBC last night it was mentioned again stating that the local county council is so desperate to remove the waste that they are looking to spend £6 million to get it moved.

The £6 million is not for it to be disposed of, just removed.

As the dump is presumable situated toward the centre of an area, as most such dumps are, more waste will no doubt make it's way to these dump areas.

The location looks ideal for a PHE disposal system coupled with an AFC unit.

With that in mind I wonder what the cost would be for a PHE/AFC unit to be sited at Killingholme, the waste is already there and so it appears is £6 million ready to be paid.

All that waste converted through the PHE producing the hydrogen straight to the AFC unit, with the electricity supplied to the many large businesses located on the airfield plus other businesses that could be attracted to the location re the cheaper on site energy supply.

As most airfields in the UK have multiple bossiness units sited on them a PHE/AFC tie-up at these locations could be a marriage made in heaven.

If anyone has not seen the size of the Killingholme Waste Dump, I suggest you google it and see. It's absolutely massive and with many countries where we sent waste to previously, now refusing such waste, these dumps will only get bigger.

With the Hinkley Point new power station prospects now almost nil after Hitachi suspending work, it good news for alternatives .

Hinkley, Moorside, Wylfa, Oldbury, Bradwell and Sizewell were identified as the sites for the most significant national wave of new nuclear power construction anywhere in the world.

Of those six - only one is under construction, three have been abandoned and two face an uphill battle to get the green light.

We know the problems have been ever increasing costs to build, coupled with the price of electricity per unit of more greener energy production falling by over 50% within last few years (solar/wind), but reliable energy is still a must for when the sun does not shine, nor the wind blow.

The government therefor still has to look at reliable alternatives and this is where AFC could come more and more to the fore.

Probable someone else has posted similar, but with the increase in posts over last few days, I may have missed it.

Just think if this starts to catch on, the more electric cars on the road, the more supermarkets will want to capture the market in charging while you shop.

Add to these locations, council and private car parks, the opportunities are endless.
