The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
BumbleB3,
Fully agree with you, "imagine wasting your time commenting every day on a share you are not invested in. Perverse!", but I find it almost as annoying seeing those posts, replying or acknowledging the existence of these posts.
That is the reason I now very rarely look in, or post.
Although I have all those idiots on ignore, I don't wish to add those that reply/acknowledge those posters, as they usually have something interesting to say.
I make this plea a few times a year, but less these days as it tends to have no effect.
This RNS looks to be a great big step for Eckoh, as it is very likely to result in several nice juicy contracts. As there appears to be very few investors following the company, I hope (but doubt) that the RNS will have much of a result on the sp.
Apart from those on here, who as we know have their own agenda's, whether it is to force the SP down, so they can buy in, or those who enjoy nothing less that winding people up (a strange hobby) on these pages, I wonder what people really want regarding AFC.
Having been invested from the initial float, my thought re AFC have been up/down so many times, it would make a rollercoaster aficionado dizzy.
Yes, I have lost faith a few times, and sold a few on bad news (delays) buying back later when things picked up, but taking what the company has achieved over the last couple of years and looking forward toward 2025/6, I have never felt to positive.
Note.....Did anyone see the prog on BBC 2 last night 6pm re are Electric Cars the future.
A very interesting prog with a ABB charger (sure if was the AFC model) showing how the tech to deliver power, including fuel cells is progressing. Worth watching on catch up, BBC I-player!
At 7pm BBC 2 next Sun, is about heat pumps and what they actually cost and how efficient they are plus the question of How we heat our homes (probably/hopefully include hydrogen, fuel cells).
At current or and future predicted cash burn, AFC are looking at several years without loans or any other cash raising strategy.
I welcome negative post, as long as they are backed up by facts, or/and well argued points, but not by empty ranting, the same of course goes for those Boom Boom, type meaningless none informative, millionaires tomorrow posts.
Stockcheque,
Years ago, the FCA had teeth and used to use them.
I filled an in depth report regarding another company on the AIM, which was accepted, ref number issued and I was updated.
Nowadays, they and make their complaint system difficult to negotiate, they also no longer bother to acknowledge complaints.
My complaint regards NNN did not even illicit a ref number.
The only reason I know that they received my NNN complaint, was that it was via e-mail, which was recorded as received.
Hi SteamyWee,
Leaving a directorship makes no difference as to if he is banned from holding any director ships. The ban can be for life or a set period of time. Jumped before pushed!
I wonder if Mark Duffin is related to Alison Rose by any chance.
Just read a report regarding Cardiff County Council and their attempts to go green.
The council have purchased several electric bin lorries, but due to faults between the electric charging points and main supply, they have been forced to use diesel generators. They are waiting for portable electric chargers.
This comes after York County Council can not yet use their £8 million fleet of electric vehicles because of lack of charging capacity.
No doubt these problems are multiplied many times over the UK.
Perhaps they should give Speedy Hire a call.
On 4th July this year, Speedy Hire signed a multi million deal with Nifty Lift, who supply all electric cherry pickers, access platforms, and work platforms.
As this deal was signed only 24 days ago, I am putting 2 and 2 together and looking at who might be another customer of AFC (Nifty Lift) through Speedy Hire.
Reading between the lines, the future looks even better, as more and more supply companies and their customers look to cleaner energy.
Whilst accepting we were expecting a collaboration with Speedy Hire, it's good to see it coming to fruition.
We know it's been on the table for some time, but taken on it's own is good news, and should be the start of many other JV's with different companies.
The Government want more people to invest in the Stock Market, especially in start-ups.
The reasons given are 2 fold.
1 The main aim is not just to encourage PI's, but also to relax the rules, to enable pension supply companies to invest a bigger percentage of pension investment totals.
2 To encourage start-ups to float on the AIM in order to grow and help the country to prosperity.
With companies like NNN allowed to get away (hopefully not for long) with their shocking treatment of investors , that dream might soon shatter.
The above statement from HMG is also ammunition I am collating for a media article.
AnneOwl,
I was not certain myself, so found this.
What is match funding for grants?
Match funding for grants means that in order to receive a particular business grant, you will need to put up some of your own funds. Grant organisations might request match funding to give them the reassurance that you are serious about the project being invested in and that you are able to raise adequate funds to support it.
How does match funding work?
With match funding, you as the business agree to put up a certain percentage of the total funding required, and the partner organisation will provide the rest. Often, businesses will provide match funding in the form of a loan, but there are other options, as we explain below.
To me, that means that AFC have to put in £4.3 million to get the grant of £4.8 million, which is not a problem for AFC, as they will already have allocated far more than that already to the project stated.
I stand to be corrected.
2 statements that stand out.
1 'A key element of AFC Energy's successful funding application was its proximity to scaling up, both in terms of technology and commercial sales, along with its close alignment to construction contractors and plant hire businesses, one of whom provided a strong letter of support to AFC Energy's application process'.
AFC will have given far more detailed info than they have been able to release to shareholders
2 Funding the first UK field deployments of this next generation.
Note 'deployments, not developments, showing we are further down the road than some thought.
A test for the ever present bashers, who's posts I never see, as they are on ignore.
Tuan6,
The reason I am looking to the media, is that I have no faith in the FCA.
After many weeks, I still have not received any acknowledgement or ref number from the FCA, something I will also forward to the media.
Hopefully, if some or all directors get a ban that is judged to be justified, they won't be starting another venture any time soon.
If there is any fraud proven, then being banned in any future director position, might be the least of their worries.
I agree that we have been here many times (I bought just after the shares floated), but the big difference is that all the big Sp rises were bought when the news was shakier than an old Barratts House).
The latest recent rises are built on much firmer foundations.
Selecta6,
My journalist contact writes manly sport type articles, but hopefully she can either pass any info I give to her, onward or put me in contact with the appropriate financial linked journo.
