RE: Nine point14 Mar 2021 22:36
I've found a major flaw in this video. It is based on an impossible scenario. They try to say that with a FCF of $70WTI most companies could buy back all their outstanding shares and debt in 5 years. Take a company we know something about; let's say EnQuest.
I can easily see us paying off debt but surely the share price is a variable. I'm not selling at 23p however much AB wants them. Obviously the future is unknown but the more it looked like we could do it then for the equation to have any semblance of reality then surely the MC keeps rising. We're roughly at $1.7bn today. At a Brent of (say) $75 you could clear it in 2 years from now. However, the aim isn't zero and along the way there'll be new developments/projects and dividends. I doubt there's any chance of net debt & shares being cleared. However, there's a good chance of the share price being North of £2 if this happens.
*I don't need £2. I only really need the optician, the chemist and Greggs in my life. It's all about the specs, drugs and sausage rolls. Be Lucky.
