Totally agree Grim. It's all bout the future potential now, irrespective of immediate sales, although those will of course help propel GDR's short term sp.

Different machines - but based on the same design, technology and principals as the AIHL one - and tests for an array of genetic mutations so as to avoid the distribution of antibiotics which can have seriously harmful effects on patients and impact the end result of the health care administered. It's huge. No one here has any idea of what will happen this week but... I wouldn't get too excited about take overs etc. the big pharmas do their homework and know what's going on in the R&D side of their world well in advance of when we simple pis do. Many will already be well aware of GDR's impending success with AIHL and have worked out if it's worth going for. BC/Danahar have already had dealings with Budd and GDR but have not yet made any moves. I did at various stages think a Take over was likely/possible but now think they would have made their move by now. If you know what the potential of a company is and you're in the market for M & A then why wait until the value of the stock is much higher....? Let's hope GDR didn't share too much of their technology/research with Beckman when they entered a distribution agreement for the Covid POC kit....

Perhaps Budd has already signalled to outsiders he would be against it and advise share holders the long term value is far greater than a short term buyout. Who would argue with him just now when most think the sp is going to start travelling north fast this week? Ok I know there are some who think it's going to either go down or just stay where it is but those folks just have an agenda and indeed some may be short. If I was short - and I never short any stock - I would be absolutely terrified now and doing/saying anything I could to try and undermine confidence to halt the rise of the share price. Shorts are surely going to close tomorrow in the first dip that comes along.

and once the machines are doing their thing in all NICUs in the UK other countries will want it. If's going to end up saving health services a fortune then other territories will want it sooner rather than later. I really do think it's now a case of when, not if, GDR takes off. IHC will hopefully be raced off their feet over the next few weeks and months with queries flying in from all over the globe and all private health clinics the world over.

Just found it and read the article. You take the drug once you've got Covid. That doesn't negate the need for testing does it??? If a new and more dangerous variant evolves then I can't imagine lots of people deciding it's ok to just catch it knowing you could take a drug that would get rid of it in three days. What if the drug isn't as effective on new variants. It also requires people to simply take more drugs.... The article also doesn't state when the drug might be ready and available for general use. It's good to hear but i don't think it eliminates the usefulness of GDR's Covid POC kit. Just imv

Regardless of whether or not that is true/realistic - remember drugs normally take years and years to be approved for use in the public domain and even if someone started developing a drug when the pandemic began I'd very much doubt all clinical tests and studies could be carried out and then approved in two years from start to finish. Happy to learn of it though - GDR is riding a wave of success at the moment that is all about AIHL and its inevitable roll out to all NHS Trust NICUs in the UK and then well beyond these shores. Possibly globally. I'd really hope the sp after so much good press coverage this weekend would be heading well towards 40p if not beyond that. This will now attract investors rather than lots of day traders. They'll still be here and nab their 10% but the bigger picture is now fully on display and the future looks rosy for GDR with or without the POC Covid kit being sold (which it has been anyway).

Sorry, it’s the former teacher in me… I’ve never been into price preditions myself.

I do though have an opinion on where the sp will be next week and that is around the 40p hopefully. People need to be patient here. The roll out on in the NHS will take a little time (although I think it will snow ball once there’s the first published report of a good result from Manchester) and FDA for the US will also take time. The EU is far more efficient than either the UK or the US in processing essential medical evaluations so we can at least expect uptake from EU countries within six months.

Mc of £100m by the end of June/July and who knows by the end of the year….

Too much to expect the BBC to give this any coverage I imagine…unless of course one of the Govt inner sanctum have a close pal who can help with the distribution and make a packet… Hope GDR and the team get all the recognition they deserve without the help of any British Govt cronyism!

I’ve been critical of DB in the past but it’s looking like I was just wrong and basically too impatient and I’m happy to offer apologies and also congratulations for this milestone in medical development. It’s bigger than I’d ever imagined.. One is never too old to learn. The waiting game here - and really not that long if we’re taking just another 12 -18 months - is going to pay handsome rewards.

C’mon BBC get your act together and highlight this wonderful new technology made by a British medical diagnostics company. Yes, British, not Chinese!

Shame they didn’t even mention the name of the company that designed and built the machine that provides this huge advancement in technology and the quality of individual routine health care. Still, share holders here know they’re involved in something very special and at a very special time.

Calm down System - it would need FDA to be sold in the US. Not sure about the EU. Even though there is interest from other countries it takes time to get any product placed internationally and there are numerous and time consuming prcoesses to undergo. This won't happen in 5 montes so please stop with the incessant posts suggesting it. You just make yourslef look like a day trader who is in and out and therefore not be paid much attention.

GDR is focussed on the UK with AIHL to begin with and I think that's smart. Once the NHS is seen to be adopting it across all its Trusts that will be a strong signal to other countries to look very seriously into also having this equipment. That could typically take 12 - 18months to get it rolled out globally Budd said yesterday. Not this afternoon and not next week. The case for investing in GDR however is strong now ie before the herd or even the iis arrive. Any whiff of an ii getting on board and the sp lounging in the 20s will be history. As I said earlier, there could be one of many triggers here but suggesting AIHL can be sold anywhere in the world now I don't think is correct. Don't want to dampen enthusiasm but let's keep collective feet on the ground perhaps?

Whilst DB confirmed there are no timelines for this owing to backlogs from last autumn and a lack of staff to actually carry out the required testing - could only happen in the UK when there's a pandemic - he did say the GDR Covid POC kit was now being looked at. I've no idea how long the tests take but it's better than having had no contact with the relevant authorities and being the dark about whether or not it's even been picked up off the submissions shelf.

One little trigger here and GDR will be off. The increased press coverage for AIHL is also great to see.

And the same will apply throughout the US which is historically an incredibly litigious-minded society. Then there’s the EU, the Far East, the Middle East…etc I’m repeating myself.

It’s looking good. I’d like to see some major press coverage of this as it’s closely aligned to the treatment future stroke victims will receive too. It’s the direction of travel though for personal medical routine care that makes these GDR machines so exciting. Imagine the number of tests per year should the machines be able to do genomic testing for many more patients. GDR is in a good position right now.

How many tests per day per machine? I guess there’s no way of knowing but I’d be surprised if it’s as low as just one test a day. Happy to be corrected again but even with 555 machines out the numbers are still incredibly impressive, depending on the number of tests of course.

tks. I'll look out for it. Generally I thought it was very positive this morning but I was a tad disappointed DB didn't throw out one of his uber positive statements, but the potential numbers are there for people to work out for themselves. Both of the products are being sold already and every sales plan has to start somewhere. No reason to think the products won't sell in significant numbers.

News on more rollout of the AIHL machines in UK hospitals
News on interest (and ultimately sales) from abroad in the AIHL machines. We already know of interest in the US, Australia and the Netherlands. Would be great to hear of interest from some of the most populous countries with highly developed health care organisations eg Japan (population nearly double that of the UK) and South Korea and of course the rest of the EU biggies eg France, Germany, Spain and Italy.

Just based on my Grade 2 maths from earlier imagine 1000 machines in the UK, 5000 in the US, 2500 in Japan and S. Korea and 4000 across the EU. Just one test per machine each day per year at a cost of £80 per test. Might take two years to get there but the numbers are really dramatic. No idea how you'd even try to calculate what the Covid machines would generate but if Covid makes a nasty return then those numbers too would be pretty hefty.

Anyone else excited or still wary owing to the excessive ups and downs over the last 2 years?
