Snakeeyes1875, Thanks for the advice and warning, with hindsight i would have been better off selling at 2.40 like sidi did, but i held on, so the situation i'm in it doesn't really matter to be me if the share price keeps rising as i'm still holding anyway, just saying i would add more if it drops down to my current average, an awful lot can happen between now and the next exdiv, if only we could predict the future of any share price we could all get rich very quickly

Sidi, i'm wanting to add here, hopefully 190-195 don't like adding above my average if i can help it, but exdiv has passed so no reason to rush, if it doesn't happen i will just put the money somewhere else, i wonder how well the sell in may and walk away theory would work for this year though, as interest rates and inflation should be dropping ? maybe staying invested will be rewarding, time will tell

Guys, this buyback argument has been going on for years over on the Lloyds board and still is, do yourselves a favour and drop it

just wish the share price up, if it's up it gives people choices sell up and get their money back , or if they believe the future of this company will be rewarding for them hold

this has been down for too many years

LTI, well i will give the thumbs up for whatever pushes the share price up, whatever it may be, you know full well this has been going in the wrong direction for far to many years, let's hope it can change direction

Dan, shall we stick to our old and trusted formula, if the share price is going up it's good if down not so good, unless? we won't go there,

Lloyds have done massive buybacks, ok the share price is up at the moment, but not sure if the buybacks can take any credit for that, I think fleccy is right, the markets players will decide on the price depending on sentiment

LTI, why didn't you sat that before lol, that's what we want is for the share price to rise before next years dividend drop, at least then you will have the option whether you want to hold or sell

LTI, If we had a decent rise in the sp this year before next years reduction in dividend yield, that would be something else to think about

Soton, of course mate i agree, I bought these at a low price during Pandemic, and sold off at a good profit, later on i then bought back and currently back in profit again, if i sell any now i would like to buy back again at some point, but also roofer has a good point mng are dropping like a stone, will have to give it a bit more thought

Mole, plus they will have 4bn less in their pocket, how will that help a company with huge debt, Its no good getting sentimental about holding on to any share for years and years, profit now for me all day long

But what if it does go over, i would like to sell and take the profit, but on the other hand, if i lose out on dividends and it doesn't drop i would regret it, oh dear

I did have 1.90 in mind for adding here, but if it continues to rise instead, i will be quite happy to just hold what i have for now, a win either way really

LTI, i get your maths behind that, but as with any share i would always prefer a share to rise now rather than a possible benefit in years to come, I think you was quite happy to benefit from Aviva rising to £5, but of course we are all different, let's hope it works well for everyone

LTI, your possibly on your own with that one, i think most people want it to go up as soon as possible, A bird in the hand and all that, your choice is just a last hope option if the prior fails

Dan, One thing i'm sure of is i will keep making mistakes, as you know Lloyds has been my biggest share holding and been in the red for years, finally they came back in profit a few weeks ago, so i sold 20% off at 52p for fear they would drop back into the red, but more than likely they will keep on rising now, hopefully Vodafone will soon have their good time soon, let's hope the may results will give it a kick up the bum
