LTI, I suppose that makes sense as the share price very low here, i guess they are expecting the share price to stay down for a while, to get the best results from it

LTI, AVIVA and TESCO did a return of capital, but then we ended up with less shares, did you not like that idea

I have £2.60 in mind for selling some off before exdiv and should it drop to 220 something sometime after will probably buy them back

But if it doesn't reach £2.60 no problem i will be happy to hold and take the dividend

LTI, I just hope this can change direction and work out for all of us, and let's hope it can be as rewarding as other investments, I will just use Aviva as one example as i spoke to you on there the other day, it's a bit of a journey into the unknown with this one isn't it, let's see where we are after the May results

Gary, nice to see a bit of humour back here, hopefully the may results may cheer everyone up, it all depends what you want from this, if the share price stays down low then i expect the buybacks would be beneficial to long term holders, i can only speak for myself, personally i would like the share price to rise above my last top up of 86p as soon as possible, then i would have choices hold or sell depending on how i felt about it at the time, each to his own as they say

LTI, It's very difficult to predict how well a share will do no matter how much research anyone does, this share is a typical example of that, i don't think any of us expected this to drop down this low, but this a chat forum where people can share their opinion, not somewhere you go for financial advice

Dan,good luck with your top up, we are all hoping enough is being has done to make this change direction, but we all know there are no guarantees, so fingers crossed

LTI, you explained to everyone how buybacks work and your opinion on it, and i think most people are gratefully for that, but what you seem to have a lot of difficulty with, is you don't seem to be able to accept that other people may have a different opinion to your own on the end result of it, and you insist on having the last word keeping on and on and on about the same thing like a broken record, resulting in insults if anyone doesn't agree with you

I know you are new to this board, so maybe you have just got off on the wrong foot, do us a favour and and try and accept others may have opinions that differ to your own

Dan, i will probably get shot down for this, mng just gone exdiv, aviva & lloyds going exdiv 11th april, lgen going exdiv later this months, meaning the share prices will soon drop, all good dividend payers, remember the divi is going to be cut in half here next year, i know you are probably not interested, it all depends where you think you can get the best total returns for your investment

but best of luck if you are investing here next week, it;s easy to look up past performance as i did the other day, but trying to predict where you will get the best return in the future is a lot more difficult

The market decided to give Lloyds a lower valuation today (market cap) than yesterday.

The share price is 53.32p

Without their buyback programmes the share would would currently be about 44p

so as a result of the buybacks you are saying the share price has benefited by 9.3p is that correct

Age related i'm only 21 lol

so if not to benefit the share price, what exactly is the benefit to share holders
