yea I agree with that, I'm in at £1.97 and waiting patiently to get back the money it owes me lol, luckily I don't need to take the money out, so happy to collect the dividend, so not so bad as others that are down and not paying anything back, just have to be patient, it will come slowly hopefully

I remember a few years ago, I had a daft idea of selling up just before ex div, and it only dropped by a couple of pence, won't be
making that mistake again, hopefully it will go up to £3.10 and drop back to £3.00 and keep growing from there, maybe just wishful thinking though

Dan RE: what advice would I give you, only be careful about putting all you investment money into one stock, I'm sure your more experienced than I am at investing, I'm here trying to learn from people who are much more experienced than myself, I think most people on here mean well and try to help
for me I have 18 months before reaching retirement age of 66, with what I consider a pretty poor sip pension with hl. my aim is to try and increase its value, and set up some reliable income stocks, as an inexperienced investor, I'm trying to do by taking advise and tips from people on these boards, and of course trying to learn from my mistakes
so if anyone wants to give me advise or share some good tips I'm always grateful , ultimately though you always have to make your own decisions, and DYOR

Dan oh dear oh dear, its your decision but, when you bought vod for £2 you probably thought it would go to £2.50 ?, but look what happened?, maybe it will get to £1.60 but maybe it won't, be careful, just trying to give a little advice for what its worth

If I remember right didn't aviva announce record profits, just before the start of the Pandemic?, either way wouldn't be surprised if this starts to rise towards the 4.50 plus once the economy starts to improve, after all we have been through lately with Brexit and Covid , hopefully this will be a good year to be invested, and what better than good Dividend paying stocks like Aviva and lgen, and hopefully Lloyds, just mentioned a few that are showing good signs of improvement for me, I do have a few rubbish ones as well, that i would rather forget

Well nice dividend in the bag, will be interesting to see how much growth is ahead, £4.50 would be nice ?

So hands up guys who's going to sell at £3, its a long time hold for me, I try to look for shares that increase their dividend each year, and this one fits the bill for me, after topping up on the lows I'm also showing a nice profit here now, have to admit its tempting to sell, but then maybe reinvest in a dog, i wish all my holdings were as good as this one to be honest

unless your day trading, it doesn't make much difference about daily ups and downs, probably be better if we just looked once a week, to see if we have made weekly gains, but it can get a bit addictive, don't you think ? hopefully we will see weekly gains as lockdown is slowly unlocking, probably be a bit slower with this one as Europe is on the backfoot with vaccine, they will probably catch up soon, now they are pinching ours

good share bad share ?, I guess a lot depends on what price you bought in 24p or 70p, as with most shares its mostly about timing, for me though, this is 25% of my holdings, I should have kept it around 5%, diff. with this and some others i hold, such as lgen, is they continued paying full dividends all the way through this pandemic, hopefully lesson learned not to commit too much to one holding, think it will come back good hopefully, and will be reducing my holdings here when it does

sid, good choices with lgen & aviva i think, I expect some of m&gs yield will be cancelled out with charges, not sure about imb will that be on the decline with less demand, just a thought, I'm probably wrong?

MP. same here, managed to average down on the lows to 229, but not interested in selling, quite happy to hold this one in my sip for income, most of my portfolio is coming back in the blue now apart from a few, which I wish I never got involved with, but think they will be ok given a bit more time,
, but how good was it being paid full dividend from lgen when you was looking at a sea of red with others, glad I took advantage and topped up here, its been a good experience though in one way, makes you aware of how important it is to diversify your portfolio

CSDI Easy to get caught in that trap isn't it, keep telling myself not to invest more than 5%, yet I still added to Lloyds even though I am overweight there, averaging down is so tempting, may end up regretting that, jumped in on gsk after the drop back today, hope I haven't jinxed it now

eccles04 maybe not just the fact people were dying, but also the country going into lockdown, causing massive debt and job losses, but fair play lgen was one of few of my holdings that continued paying full dividends, which gave me good incentive to top up on the lows

Hi Dan that's very true not looking great for holiday in Europe this summer, poss. October perhaps but no guarantees there , going to use the money I've saved to give the bathroom a well overdue revamp, Re: £2 Vod sp, looking where we were Feb 26th at £1.23 its moving in the right direction, all but slowly , at least we can keep collecting the dividends on the way up
