Sometimes it's all down to the price you paid for the share at the time, rather than the company your invested in, someone else who bought in at the bottom price will see it very differently, you can't win them all. All the time, that's the game were in, you see the price dropping, but you just don't know when its going to stop, and if you over invest in one stock it hurts even more

prussell1963 , Your not alone there, I would think, most of us are showing some paper losses, with certain shares at the moment, personally I would hold out for that £4 plus, and benefit from the dividend in the process, think there's lessons to be learnt from recent unprecedented times, for me its more diversifying , and looking at things such as tesco, and investment trusts , such as smt , and not putting too many eggs in one basket, but I'm no expert

csdi Interesting, its something i have never used, HL, terms say they can't guarantee they can execute the price you set, just wondering how well it works in practise, as you usually get these market corrections, when the markets are closed, with such uncertain times, would be nice if you could lock in profits

Just curious, does anyone use stop loss on shares , to lock in profit, and if so how successful has it been

bluebud, not sure what you are looking for, but would say the likes of lgen, are one to hold long term, especially in a sipp or isa, it seems to get around the £3 mark then drops back down again, but good thing about it, is it pays a good dividend, which you can either use for income , or accumulation

Personally I'm not a fan of averaging down, unless the drops are down to political reasons or similar reasons, rather than company losses, in this case Pandemic, I have sold off less performing funds and shares, to raise cash to top up on ones I feel will give me better future profits, recent pandemic and Brexit have certainly, brought my attention to the good and bad, and Lgen for me have shown they look after their share holders a lot more than others, by continuing to pay dividends in difficult times, even though they were advised not to, so hopefully they will continue to do well

Seems like the only gainers from this, are the brokers, with their sell and buy charges, and the taxman, don't think it will make much difference to me as I hold it in a Sipp, or will it ?

bluebud wouldn't surprise me if its around the £3 ish, and with good dividend, I for one will be quite happy, just my opinion,

Increase is making it look good , for the April dividend

Good news guys, but lets hope it can go forward from here, and not slip back again, it's all about dividend with this one, if we can get an increase some time soon , will be worth holding

Seawind Nice to read your post, was starting to think it was just me that deeply regrets getting into this share, it's just one thing after another knocking this down, Brexit referendum, ppi , then just as you think things are going to get better, Pandemic, people here talking about 70p, I will be quite happy with anything near 60p, then goodbye Lloyds

I do agree profits will rise once travel returns, but by how much is the question

Re: good news and exciting times, think you will need a lot of good luck, to get this dog of a share moving , it started going down hill long before the Pandemic, the Saga name has long lost it's credibility, people want competitive prices these days, hope I'm wrong though, in big loss with this one

Thanks benrith , my 2 best shares at the moment, av and lgen, with the latter having the edge for continuing to pay dividends, but will be interesting to see which does best over the next year
