CSDI1962 Think that was wise only selling 50%, i have put 50% of my aviva proceeds into tesco, if the price should drop, will reinvest the rest back in aviva
good luck to all you aviva holders, think i am going to regret selling too early, will get back in at some point

CSDI1962 I've got a feeling, you might have made the same mistake as myself, selling up aviva shares, as the price i think is going to keep rising, and will be difficult to rebuy at a lower price, also lgen is rising sharply as well

Sold off all my tsco holdings earlier at 222.50, and repurchased an increased amount at 220, so I have my average price showing correctly with hl, just hoping my purchase is reasonably close to the bottom price

Dan If you look at what weave gone through lately, with Brexit and pandemic, which has been a hammer blow to the whole world, ok more job loses are going to come, but surely things are going to start improving from here on, i think we will start to see growth in the economy and things will get a lot better, because lets face i don't see how they can get worse, just hold on there

2Daman ,yes i get what your saying, and my regret is committing too much of my portfolio to lloyds, but i can see hope of recovery in the near future, so will wait to hopefully see some profit, thankfully i put 50% of my portfolio in funds, and they are all in the blue

Wayzgoose it's called over committing to one share, you see some hope of recovery, then suddenly your back where you started several weeks before, some people will moan about it every day, and others will moan about people moaning about it every day, and emotions can get get a bit high, the dividends definitely help as your getting income while waiting for the sp to rise, but nothing is certain in this game, i have some holdings that are around 70% in loss with no dividends, and have myself over committed with lloyds, but i do agree if you can't handle it, put your money in a savings account

chips , i have held lloyds for a good few years now, so no intention of selling until i get that profit, they owe me lol

It may well have reached it bottom now, don't forget all the markets have taken a big hit today, not just vod, lets hope we get a turnaround from Monday

Yea good one Dan, not all bad though, aviva dropped today as well, so at least i haven't lost on both, being serious though, i think the biggest worry with vod, is if they cut the dividend, then the sp will drop like a stone and with no income from it, seen it before with other stocks, lets hope we have a bounce back tomorrow

Can't complain too much, as they were in profit, but not going to buy back at a higher price, so may look for another divi share or top up a current one
Dan, don't say vod, already into it heavier than i would like on

vod, not looking good at the moment guys, but just hold on there, typical the shares like vod , that i want to go up go down, and the ones i want to go down go up, sometimes it's difficult to win, sold all my aviva shares about a week ago, after they had a few days of good rises, with the hope of buying back at a lower price, guess what, they have gone up every day since, when just about everything else has gone down, hoping i might get it right one day, if i have any money left

Having topped up some holdings, when the prices have been low, in theory, if things get back to pre Pandemic prices, should be better off than before, in practise though, with so much damage done to businesses, your right, as usual, there will be winners and losers, hope we got the winners

CSDI1962 and dan, Sorry didn't make that very clear. I realise you have to pay tax on pension withdrawals after the the first 25%, just saying, find the isa great for smaller holding, as a savings account for holidays etc, especially for funds, as there is no charges for buying and selling funds with HL, one question for Dan though, is I also hold vod in my isa as well as sipp, will I ever get a holiday ever again from the vod profits?? hope so

hi CSDI1962 I hold most of my shares and funds in a sipp with HL, I also have a stocks and shares isa with them, which I use mostly to try and make some money for holiday fund , as far as I'm aware I don't pay any taxes on the isa account as long as dividends don't exceed £2000
