Dan. you best wait for mole man, to see what he has to say, he's the expert on that sort of thing, can only tell you from what i am personally experiencing , Lloyds growing fast at the moment. and if it continues will soon double from its lower prices and also bringing back dividends, on the other end lgen is paying good dividend and has done so all through the pandemic, has also come back to its pre pandemic price, think vod will improve and hopefully get back to the £2 it owes me, but looks like its going to take a while, so happy to hold as long as it keeps paying dividend
I have a lot worse saga has stopped paying dividend and about 60% down
only my opinion, i know I don't know much about this stuff

HI Dan, ok mate, I understand that mate, and I know I'm no expert, but let me put it to you another way, from what I understand there are basically two types of shares, one a growth share, the other is when a company has fully grown as far as it can, ex. no more growth, it hen offers a dividend to keep people invested

Dan Well it doesn't look like there is going to be any rapid growth, to get us back to £2, so without the dividend, we would be in a bad place

Hi Mole-man, totally get what your saying, but surely the share price would drop like a stone, with immediate effect, if they announced a dividend cut, as most people are only here for the dividend

Good evening all, very disappointing result here today, lots of number crunching going on here, but does anyone really know, what sp to expect here in 6 months time, and what about the dividend, will it be cut or stay where it is, any thoughts
makes you wonder if individual shares are worth bothering with, or is better to stick with funds and trusts

Hi sidi, my second jab wasn't due until 2nd June, but they rang me Friday afternoon, asked if I could get there within an hour as they had a couple of spare ones, not had any side effects this time so far, apart from maybe schizophrenia

taffyman Re: Where else to put your money otherwise, I'm no expert, but for me I'm a bit on the cautious side, I have a selection of funds and a selection of high dividend shares plus Lloyds, with the funds, they are all in the blue and ok, but not big risers, my shares were all big time in the red due to the pandemic, so took the opportunity to sell off some of my worse performing funds, to average down on the shares, while they were at their low price, when I find a share of fund that I like, I try to top up on any dips, for me I need some income shares, but also need some growth, well that's what I aim for, but things don't always go to plan

had my second jab today 2 weeks early, last year weather was great but you couldn't go anywhere, this year you can, but the weather is rubbish, really am dreaming of a holiday in the sun now

Oldsid 1,206.85p for me, I'm 65 now, so another year before retirement date, if I ever fully retire that is, not sure about the five year thing, but may as well leave it in and hope It comes back into profit, as long as it starts to show a profit, then I have no problem with leaving it build up for a few years

Gary Think you did the right thing getting back in and at a lower price , its moving slowly, but in the right direction, I need £1.97 to get even, and I've waited this long, so may as well hang on a bit longer, and collect the dividends while waiting

Yes Dan, I got something right for a change, wish it was more though, there's always next week, its all down to the results now fingers crossed for that

Thanks again guys for all your opinions and some good advice, I intend staying invested here, with the hope of getting back into profit, a few more days of rises and I should be there, and just see how it goes from there, note I have changed the subject title ??
