Hi Dan, It's always good to listen to other peoples views, even if you don't agree with them, I think you know though I have no intention of selling Vod for a while at least, at the current prices, I think there's more chance of making gains here right now, and I can understand why the new investors are enthusiastic, if they have bought in around the 110 mark
I think You really should take moles advice, about eggs in one basket though, nobody is suggesting you trade 20 shares mounting up costs, if you had say just 3 investments, maybe the other two would make up for one losing, it does give you more chance, as mole says maybe watch a few your interested in, then wait for a good entry price
but if that's not for you, then lets hope vod can make some money for us

This is just my way of thinking right or wrong,, if i sell my vod shares right now and take a loss, i may invest it somewhere else , and could possibly take a further
Loss, maybe with vod shares as low as they are right now, i might get a better gain by holding for a better price, plus picking up the dividends while waiting, and no selling charges, if it gets up to say 140 that would be more acceptible for me
But that's just my opinion guys, time will tell
But please do tell me your views on it

Hi mole, good practical advice of course, so if you was to sell say a percentage of vod shares right now, question is, where else would you reinvest it, to make up for those losses, and of course avoid going into further loss

Robino, I have to ask, if you have so much belief in the charts, why did you buy in here in the first place ?

Dan, the last bit wasn't a dig at you, just saying in general, everyone's got their own strategy's, I'm sure you make a nice income just from your dividends, and hopefully the share price will get better given time

Hi Dan, not sure if we will see that £2 back here anytime soon, but it is what it is, been collecting the dividends here, which have kept adding to my portfolio, so will continue along that route, if it gets around 140-150 some time next year, I will be happy with that, dont like selling anything at a loss unless I think there's no hope of improvement, is has been a bit dissapointing, but will just have to give it more time , I'm definitely no expert at this game, but not over investing in any one share will makes it a lot less painful for some

Pfen, I think most people who have bought in around 200 will agree with you, but last couple of results have shown some improvement, think there's more chance of the share prices rising than dropping from this level, so for me it's hold on and collect the dividends, and hope for a better future share price, unless you feel theres no hope, but don't get influenced by posters on here, nobody really knows, so make your own choice

The future does look better here , but maybe we will have to wait a bit longer than hoped for, may as well wait it out and keep collecting dividend , no point selling at these prices

Gary, as you know, a good investment is one that pays a dividend, whilst maintaining or growing your original investment, may just have to accept here, that there's little chance of getting your initial capital back, but is there any point in selling and taking that loss, or carry on taking the dividends

Lordloads, well done for pulling that off, can be very difficult, trying to time the markets like that, need a bit of luck on your side as well, think I will just hold on and ride the waves, as I've not been invested here as long as you, and it seems to be doing ok for me right now, but best of luck with it
