Hi Dan, RE: My advise is to buy a share that you think you will make money on, well I have tried that one mate, but I'm still waiting for the money:-) so obviously I'm not very good at picking the right growth shares, so the alternative for me is to pick dividend shares for income without having to sell shares, too difficult I think to move my pension, but think it would be a good idea to move my stocks & shares isa, when the time is right to sell up my shares from the current one, really thought this was going to be the year where I got good growth from my Lloyds shares, but just like with Vodafone, there just seems to be one thing after another knocking it back all the time, but one day they will come good, just hope it don't take too long or I will be too old to enjoy it ;-)

Thanks Paul, always good to get an opinion from a current holder, another big problem for me is the price, should I buy in now or hold back for possible further drop, or maybe top up on Aviva instead, if only I could predict the next few months, but thinking about that, maybe it's best not to know ?

So which are the best to buy guys ? Personally I am preferring Dividends , hl charges me 0.45% up to a max of £45 for holding my shares, so if my shares have a yield of around 5 to 7 %, then the charges are covered plus I get some income from them, and if the share price rises that's a bonus if it drops I still get income while waiting for recovery, if on the other hand I choose a growth share and it shrinks instead of growing, not only have I lost money on the capital but my charges are not covered and I get no income, you could be lucky picking the right growth share though and possibly make more

Yea just hold on there Dan and collect the dividends, been losing a lot lately, but I expect most people have been if we're being honest, things will come back good again, got back into Aviva and topped on on mng as the prices dropped, holding back some cash for topping up again in case we go back to Pandemic prices, but I expect your looking forward to your chilling out holiday now :-)

Dan, to be honest, just about everything has been dropping with me the last few weeks, not just Vodafone, let's hope for better and happier times very soon, too much bad things been happening the last few years

Hi Gary, well you sure did the right thing selling Vodafone at 139, to free up cash and taking advantage of topping up on some good dividend paying bargains, have been doing the same myself as far as funds allow, only point I was trying to make was, when something bad happens everything drops across all markets, some more than others though, good luck with your new investments, I suspect Vodafone along with most other shares may have further to drop yet, think everything depends which way this horrific war is going, anything can happen, let's hope there is a ceasefire very soon, to stop all those pointless deaths

with the share prices dropping, will Aviva pay the dividends, as they stopped it during the pandemic ?

Yes of course it is Dan, and your right in pointing that out to me, in the short term though we all know what's affecting the stock markets right now, which is things beyond our control, so future planning is also important for us all

Good evening Falky, yes it is very sad mate, unfortunately there's nothing we can do to stop it, only support them as much as we can, did you buy into lgen after all ?, for me dividend stocks such as lgen, mng, aviva, lloyds vod, help to support upcoming pension, although the regular dividends are the most important part, we would all like to buy in at the bottom price and sell at the top, but you need a lot of luck on your side for that, not something I've been very successful with, so find doing it in a few stages is the safest option for me, but what a few years we've had Pandemic, then inflation and interest rate rises, then a war, lets hope there's happier times ahead

Also added more lgen and aviva today, but got an awful feeling there's worse to come, so holding some money back, just hoping there will be some good news over the weekend to stop this madness and needless suffering for those poor Ukrainians

RE: Somehow guessing next weeks price direction doesn't seem fun. I'll abstain for now, I will echo that mole, will be quite happy to see this drop below a pound in the short term if it will help to bring down this mad man, he makes me feel sick, and he has to be stopped one way or another
