The Sitryx deal sounds like a complete punt by Lilly. A group of scientists who got together less than 2 years ago and have produced a lot of academic papers (1,000 between them). No indication of what molecules they have in the pipeline, whether they've been tested for toxicity etc in other words I think they've sold a research platform/concept. In that sense they've played a blinder but I do wonder if we'll see much come of this and the $820m in milestones is just a pipe dream. Having said that, it might actually help to put a value on SKIL which on my books (and not unlike Aurora) has no value. The core difference could be that someone at Sitryx is a dealmaker and that's what we need here. GLA

Aber - He's got nothing in the short or even medium term to excite his shareholders so unless he comes up with something around 737 the price will just drift lower. Based on the current trend he's got less than 6 months before he hits $1 and he's in trouble again.

Given the market and financial incentive, if and its a big if, this could work then a large pharma would move mountains very quickly. Without wishing to appear unethical there's a lot of money to be made......

Because it treats the symptoms of Covid 19. However, it needs to be administered early. Once the immune system goes into overdrive its too late and become ineffective and that's why you need an immune system inhibitor.

The BBC 1.00 News just gave major exposure to Gilead's Remdesivir as going into trials for Covid 19. Nothing about TYK2 in combination..... Missed opportunity?

I'd be surprised if Chinese Pharma wasn't one of the parties in the TYK2 equation. My only concern is that the Chinese do have a reputation for playing by different rules when it comes to commerce. The facts now emerging about the Wuhan outbreak are very revealing!

Hi Krone - would be nice to think they're finalising a deal but I'm not expecting any significant news before May (would be delighted to be wrong!) Looking at Tim's Proactive Investors interview there's an interesting revelation on Aurora - clearly they weren't expecting to get anything upfront on this as he mentions that they were looking for a partner who would simpky take it forward for a share of the 'equity'. Also slightly bemused by his reference to the Cambridge brokerage looking after their (SAR's) Chinese interests - plural. Have we missed something?

Hi Krone - Just watched Tim's performance and I thought it was even more upbeat than during the half year update. Given that everything is still very much in play I'm sticking with the science rather than market sentiment. The MM's can play their games with the short termers. GLA

Hi workinginpharma - my experience of 'deals' is anywhere north of 3 months depending on the due diligence. I suspect that the Aurora deal was done inside this timescale (because they've already done one deal like this in the past) but something like 737 or TYK2 will be dependent on the available data. For TYK2 it really is a piece of string but for 737 I think it will be latest research results released (hopefully good) and then up to 3 months to negotiate/finalise. If the results are not clear cut then it could drag out. I'm not expecting anything next week! All IMHO.

Hi Potnak. I don't think any company would take this on unless they had a pretty good idea how they could solve it. And to go with a 9 month timescale suggests confidence. Could be a nice pre AGM sweetener if it works out. Not that we'll need a sweetener with 737 and TYK2 in the pipeline..... I'd still like the cherry on the cake though!

I'm beginning to wonder if we've all been looking in the wrong direction in terms of a deal for TYK2. It's always easy to think that 'big pharma' is the US and EU when in fact the Chinese market is going full throttle. Just a thought for the weekend....

Been doing some reading around the topic and looking at the Chinese immuno oncology sector. The deal for FLT3/Aurora could be bigger than we think. This is a big sector for Chinese Pharma and they are playing catch up with the west. Could be they've spotted something in Aurora that they think they can leverage.

If Gilead was to come knocking on SAR's door looking for a TYK2 inhibitor to work alongside Remdesivir I'd welcome them with open arms. Should NG come knocking with a request to use TKY2 alongside Momelotenib I'd tell him where he could insert it. Trying to prop up your SP with some opportunistic PR in these difficult times is hardly ethical.

Hi Krone - Yes, I thought the point about the value of a late stage deal was a bit laboured but in reality we'd never get there. I made the point at the AGM that as the value goes up, so does the risk of failure. To some extent I'm quite relaxed about Covid 19 as I'd rather they focus on TYK2. However, if someone was to come along and say they'd like to explore TYK2 in combo with one of their drugs then that would be another matter. As to Sierra - all eyes on Gilead as the puppet master.
