A thought crossed my mind during the night. If you had a product bringing in sales of $2bn but with significant side effects and someone developed an alternative with no side effects wouldn't you want to buy up the new entrant to protect your $2bn? Especially if the $2bn was to become $12bn+. Now add in the fact that you've struck a collaboration with another large pharma to tackle Covid 19. You've also signed a deal with a german biotech to develop a vaccine. Your biotech now works with you on all markets outside China while your collaborating Pharma get the Chinese market. All sounds very cosy. Now add in the names - Pfizer, Fosun and BioNTech. Big money, huge capability and looking to take a large share of the vaccine market for Covid 19. But also interested in immune oncology (Parp inhibitors in the case of Pfizer) and theraputics. Combo treatments now very much of the moment. I'd be very surprised if Pfizer and possibly Fosun weren't looking at SAR. With regard to Utah's comment on 'we'd never see $9bn'. I agree. I think if that looks a possibility then we'll be bought well in advance. 737 to Gilead and 1801/2 to Pfizer? Aurora to ?? Lots of good posts this weekend. Keep them up people. We're going into a formative period. All IMHO. GLA
