Gooner - just don't know mate how this is going to pan out, the track record of resource companies on AIM is abysmal. This is a very long term project and will take years to bring into production - mining / generation.
Out at 100p would be a result, we have to hope Michael Tang is navigating a wise and steady course...……...at some point though, news has to break, good or bad.

...we must be now at a critical point, the planning and presentation preparation done, finance arranged and a good steer on whether or not we are going to be accepted as a B&R I project.
I just hope there is not a 'Yellowhammer analysis' in the background. I guess worse case scenario is we get rejected and go bust.

….just look it up if you want a sensible answer. You will probably find the State own the land and the minerals contained within it. GCM will get an exploration permit, then subject to results, a permit to mine. We are probably quite advanced with the early stage stuff and now at the crucial point of Permission to Mine.
The state sits on the side-lines then drawing royalties and all the associated tax revenues once it is in production. There will be tax waivers and concessions in the early years, including write-down of equipment etc....

I am the most sceptical person on this board but I find the contract with DG encouraging. If you look back a couple of days, you will see that the poster (Tripod Man) found DG were at the signing with PowerChina back in Jan. Nine months later and with much deeper insight into the project, they are prepared to take shares as payment. I think this is a positive.
We also have a new finance director - again, I think this is a positive.
However, like you, I am a little concerned about the short term nature of our JV's and MOU's, this could so easily end in tears with the Chinese walking away due to the usual vacillation and inability of the Banglas to get anything actually done.

….2020 it is. I feel encouraged the project seems to still have legs and DG are on the ground in Bangladesh. Big incentive for them to drive this forward.

….the fund manager seems about as useless as me at choosing growth stocks, losing over £200 million in a couple of months on two Life Science investments - bravo Neil....stunning performance.
So, based on 'bees' info and his 'dead certainty winner' valuation, maybe our esteemed fund manager should now be taking a big punt on GCM.

Back home in Bangla, Hasina seems to have her hands full of crises - Dengue fever epidemic, 15000 homes destroyed in Dhaka shanty town fire and now the Rohinguas (all 3/4 million of them) don't want to go home. The s**thole conditions they are living in has to be seen to be believed - mud, rain corrugated shacks and non-existent sanitation...….Hasina should just sign off the mining approval and let the Chinese get on with it....her team are simply not up to the challenge.

interesting article and impressive electro engineering. I guess there will be little movement by Hasina over the next few weeks as the focus will be on the martyrs of Phulbari. 2020 beckons, will this ever be resolved and Phulbari mined ?
As for SW France, project progressing well, aided by a fabulous summer.

Cheers Phulbari - so ignoring the logistics of getting coal into Rampal etc....the solution is the building of the power stations + mine at Phulbari and distribute the electricity via an upgraded grid - all 6000MW of it.
Pylons and copper cable, no protests likely with that and minimal land grab.
Sounds sorted...…………………...just needs a bit of political common-sense.

…..what is your opinion on the feasibility of a rail link from Phulbari mine mouth to the power stations at Matarbari etc... The Chinese are world leaders in rail construction and seem to be able to overcome significant geographical / terrain challenges, simply taking them in their stride.

...no projects are making any headway at the moment and Hasina set up a team to monitor and advise on their lacklustre performance.
My biggest concern is that our JV partners lose interest in the project(s), move on and we are left back at square !, effectively where we started two years ago.
However, I do accept that without the Chinese, the project is dead anyway.
It needs a political catalyst to give Hasina and her government a metaphorical jolt and kick-start this game changing project.
150p is not impossible if this were to happen.

Gooner / Glaw - I remain extremely suspicious of all AIM companies and I would need 150p on GCM to recover my losses on the other four AIM investments.

We have issued project milestones and we are not even off the blocks on the first one - 28th Feb.
The bank balance must be approaching zero, so that will impact on our activities, never mind paying Dyani. I think they will struggle to get another fund-raising away.
However, Hasina represents the biggest problem obstacle and she could simply sit it out and wait for the GCM partners to leave and GCM go bust - this is such a typical AIM play. Step in PetroBangla and acquire our licence for zilch.
I've been here since 2008, only have 30,000 shares bit that is ten grand (or another ten grand) I'd rather not lose. Before GP breaks out in a sweat and says 'sell up sell up' I said that was ten grand I would rather not lose, not need.

CGGC and Power China have withdrawn from the JV's, the B&I roll out, stalled.

Could so easily be the scenario and that is why I would be happy to exit at 50o.
AIM is a one-sided casino, carefully contrived RNS's to allow professional investors to exit and cannon fodder ;newbies to be mugged...…...beware.

GP - the reason the share price is 21p is because nobody believes the story.
We are six months behind with our presentation, the PM has gone off to get her cataracts done and the word Phulbari does not even cross any-ones lips.

This is how it will play out and is based on Hasina's dislike for the mining project.
Procrastinate, procrastinate then a 'go ahead' leak. Anu will be tipped off to start another riot, he will bus in the same thugs as were used at Vedanta's Tutacorin smelter, there will be a stand-off with the police, some young hothead Bangla teenagers will be killed and a judge will slap a mining embargo on the project. One happy Hasina - problem solved.

Share price 3p - again

….and laughed at our rubbishy share price - talk about 'becalmed in the doldrums of share prices' - this share goes nowhere except 21p.

Write-off August as the Banglas will be focused on something else no doubt and we will then be into September for our presentation ,,,,if we are lucky.

Oh well, as Johnny Logan sang 'What's another Year' - but at least he won, we could do with a bit of winning too..!!
