So Nat is worried enough to want to match ACE's indicative offer to shareholders! Happy days ahead folks, strap in and enjoy the ride - we may yet go well north of 50p.

As I have said and as that really interesting article confirms, the ACE offer is so much better than the NR offer. "The offer is stronger than Nat's on all fronts," Argyle's chief investment officer Kin Chan told The Business Times. "Nat's open offer is essentially a takeover to get to 60 per cent by stealth which would box in shareholders to only one route with no possibility of an exit. Our offer provides stakeholders with a real choice," said Mr Chan. Can,t wait for the fireworks tomorrow.

Gonna break 30p any minute now. Still 30% to go to get to the expected offer price of 41p.

Timing unsure but enough speculation and comment to suggest we can certainly expect it sometime today. The rising SP suggests something is coming.

Strange! But that's a £650k holding, which is nice, and we await news of ACE/ASML increasing their stake above 5%. I was a little disappointed that we didn't sail over 30p yesterday but I expect a big blue day today ahead of the bid situation being reported and discussed more fully in the weekend Press - we can expect many to wake up to what's happening here come Monday. And ACE will make their formal offer before Wednesday, possibly today even. I think we will see a RNS red dot flashing at 7am, if only to belatedly report yesterday's holdings RNS. GLA we could be at least 50% richer this time next week and probably much more if this turns into the epic fight I am expecting - NR will not let this prize go to the Indonesians.

You will be closer to this than I am but I suspect that success with the open offer may give NR some form of control/position of strength? Otherwise why would ACE be so keen to derail his offer and why is their indicative offer dependent upon the NR proposal failing?

Agreed - they will want more than the 4.65% they said they (ASML) had last night - we can expect a holdings announcement imminently as they cross 5% and beyond. I just wonder how many shareholders may have already accepted the NR open offer? The ACE intervention is very late in the day but such is the history of this company that I assume many shareholders will be waiting to the last minute and so will not now be accepting.

DO NOT TAKE UP THE OPEN OFFER!! A whole new ball game is yet to be played here - wait for the ACE formal offer which will be massively better than the NR offer.

I guess the SP is being held back because of the possibility that NR's recapitalisation plan may still go through at 25p (AGM 22 April)? However, it would be criminal of the ARMS BoD to allow the NR proposal to be voted on if ACE have confirmed a formal offer, which they are bound to do prior to the AGM. Every aspect of ACE's offer is significantly superior to what NR has offered. This has all the makings of a classic fight for control and the SP will benefit massively more than it already has IMHO. It will be interesting to see where we close today but we must expect to be over 100% up? All views welcome.

Offer price 41p, current SP 27.5p. So if I buy shares now I will be looking at making a 50% return, assuming the offer goes through?? Why is the SP not closer to 41p??

Down 19% in oz last night so uk sp has 10% to fall from here to hit parity. Party over for now, time to wash the dishes and put the cat out. I will look back in when they start making money. GLA.

9.5p will be smashed in my view. There should however be a really good chance to get in early below 8p as lots of traders attention this morning will be on UKOG etc.

That's it, I'm back in, this dip will do me nicely and I'm not selling now until we have news of the acquisition. So by close we'll either be 5p or 10p. What's it going to be punk? Do I feel lucky, Yes or no?? Up or down?? Whatever happens it looks like UKOG will keep me happy.

Today's rise has paid for wife and daughter's trip to Barcelona and left me enough for a tasty top-up on SXX. Really good luck to all and I will be back if we see any dip, which i doubt we will. News will land between now and Thursday and could be massive but I have learnt, painfully, that profit is profit and any hope for super profit is greed.
