From the news which we were looking forward to on Monday morning, that a number of variations of Affimers had been shipped to the US to Cytiva and Apeptrix for testing and certification. The point that we know is that Avacta knows that the actual Affimer technology will detect the virus. This is defined. The application on individual products and having the validations all completed takes time, but the urgent requirement gives the ability to successfully speed up the process is in our favour. There are multiple others trying to get there test to the forefront. But simplicity, accuracy, simple production, easy logistics and of course low lost are what the world needs and this is the list of USP's which define the Avacta / Cytiva product. Known of us who have read and researched this inside out have any doubt that this project remains the clear market disrupter when it is cleared for use and available in numbers. I have no idea myself when the RNS will come but, I do think we will have it at some point next week. When it does it will be huge news. You can be sure that the world is awiting news of this kind of test peice and the demand will be massive. To be honest it is like we a switch and the day that we have this ready and the switch is pushed on and this will go mental.
That will be phase I. Then the news from Adeptrix will come and that will be Phase II. Or they may be the otherway round but both will be huge for Avacta.
Phase III will be further partnership announcements give access to the product around the world.
For me nothing has changed and until the next RNS comes in the SP will do what it wants. The upside from 95p, £1, £1.30 - where ever it is will be huge and that is all you need to focus on.
The world experts are not really expecting a vaccine any time soon and they don't seem to expect to see this just fading away so testing and low cost testing will be key. The biggest worry the world will have, is going to be 'copy fake tests'. Which would lead to total confusion! So a firm control on the distribution network is going to be key here.
This for me is still the biggest opportunity the world has to get on top of this pandemic!
This is before we get to the potential the new pre-CISION chemotherapy technology we have in development!

Dr Ryan added: 'We should not be waiting to see if opening of lockdowns has worked by counting the cases in the ICU (intensive care units), or counting the bodies in the morgue, that is not the way to know something has gone wrong.

'The way to know that the disease is coming back is to have community-based surveillance, to be testing, and to know the problem is coming back, and then be able to adjust your public health measures accordingly.

'Let us not go back to a situation where we don't know what's happening until our hospitals are overflowing. That is not a good way to do business.'

This underlines the requirement for a low cost simple test which can be carried anywhere - we know where this is going to come from.

Sounds like good timing to me lostinspace. Quiet days are the days to add more!

I am not sure of this, but I have been thinking and I wonder if Avacta will hold back on additional partnerships with POC tests using LFD until Cytiva have theirs approved. This allows Cytiva the first to market advantage as the first partner to work with Avacta. Once this is approved and all looks good they will allow new partnerships to be introduced. This will be a first mover advantage. In business this is possibly a clause that Avacta would have had to agree to, based on moving the project to production within so many days. With this in mind Cytiva will want to get this working and approved as quickly as possible. I think we will then see marketing go into overdrive. It is noticeable that the PR machine at Avacta are quiet at the moment. This is quite possibly the reason.
Once the news comes that the Affimers are working on the Cytiva POC LFD and FDA approval is given, and most likely the first orders in, buying at sub £2 will never be seen again. So get in whilst the opportunities are still there at this level.
Then other partnerships are likely to be then announced in the days following. This is just a hunch!

They will already today been applying the Affirmers to the LFD and most likely testing already. They all know the urgency here and the potential for everyone involved.

Days like today when things are quiet, the number of buy's here are much lower than other days, becomes the perfect day to build your investment. All a little quiet, awaiting the next news. SP has drifted off yesterdays peak. Gradually buying through the day. Next news will be a significant one, so if you are in the know and here not the time to sit on your hands. Buying at the smart time, not trying to get in when the price is rocketing up. Not advice, just what I am doing...

You might want to look the location of Cytiva's (GE Healthcare) Chinese manufacturing sites. Yes, they have sites in China - Shanghai and Beijing! Should not be too big a challenge to get our test distributed in China.

Morning all!
No share price goes in a straight line and the market markers on every share follow a trends and patterns. People do the same
No news this morning, we already are pretty sure where are going, but the MM's have dropped the price. I have explained previously how one could make this work for you. Few people ever announce their sells unless they feel compelled. They certainly never say time to sell! But we are all pleased when we have bought something. New car, new house, new toy etc.
In the same way this morning, I did have a small sell on opening this morning and I have now bought the same amount in terms on £'s back but gained a number of shares. Thanks to the MM's playing their usual games. If you are intending to be a long term holder when the SP gets to the level you are focused on you need to hold the maximum number shares you have been able to amass. It is just like running a business. You work hard, but you use your head and work smart.
Everyone has the ability, it is determined by the amount of time or risk anyone is applying to their own investments.
Most buy, hold and sell. Sometimes they make a good profit and sometimes they make a loss. But the right research and the right management, as well as the proven previous success of the companies BOD underlines the potential, especially if they have all the right contacts in the field they are working in.
Detailed research into Avacta reveals much and those invested here can see this playing out. As the Affimer co-operation and use of LFD (Cytiva) and BAMS (Adeptrix) partnerships develop it will be a clear affirmation to investors how the future partnerships will work on other even larger potential projects like pre-CISION.
In the mean time work smart and keep safe. Only invest what you can afford to lose!

SirusB, Sell down, you have got to be kidding! Why sell down when the price is going to go to infinity and beyond as Buzz Lightyear once said. I added more today and introduced many new people to Avacta.

I did a very conservative value for the business just on the pre-CISION tumour activated chemotherapy project. That alone just with no other project would potentially increase the market cap to £46. That was with low numbers!

This has the potential to be a once in a lifetime investment which would have been under the radar for many AIM investors if it had not been for this most horrendous virus changing our world. This company has the potential to not only get the world back to normal it has the potential to change people suffering from life-debilitating illnesses and that is something we all want to support. My wife had 3 courses of chemotherapy last ear and seeing the side effects for her and others brought it to my eyes, from being words that someone gets cancer, to see the lady you love have the life taken out of her in hours! I am pleased to say she is now cancer-free, but her life will never be the same again.
I hope that explains my passion for the potential of these treatments and the life effect it will have for the positives.
I know alot find investing just away of trying to make money quickly, but I get involved where I can in the investments I make and learn everything I can. If the company is good, the management team are good and the deliverables are positive for mankind that is something that I really can get into.

That is why I am possibly posting here far too much! Sorry folks!

CaptainStanley - the key wording which gives as a totally unique selling point in Covid19 testing is highlighted here:

"The Affimer reagents have now been manufactured by Avacta in the quantities required for test development and are being sent to Cytiva today. The reagents are also being provided to Adeptrix with whom Avacta has announced that it will develop a COVID-19 laboratory test to run on hospital mass spectrometers using Adeptrix's proprietary BAMSTM assay platform.

The Affimer reagents have also now been studied further by Avacta and, importantly, this has shown that there are Affimer reagents that can work in pairs, both binding to the spike protein at the same time. This allows tests to be developed that detect both the intact virus particle and the detached spike proteins which become separated from the virus particle during the development of the COVID-19 disease, which may also be important in monitoring disease progression.

The last bit means Avacta will make strong revenue on every test produced and sold using the Avacta Affimer Technology!
That is revenue on potentially billions of tests that will be accurate and specific like no other!

If we are looking at why Avacta has such huge potential and why it is different from Novacyt?
1. Avacta produces Affirmer technology this is material which provides analysis which is super accurate not only at picking up the exact match for the virus but with combinations the stage at which the virus is at. This is not only unique it is tested and proven. All that needs to happen is that this needs to be applied to the Lateral Flow Device (Note Avacta have already used LFD for testing before, so they know the Affirmers work on them. Then it is only about approval. Given how accurate this is it is a procedure. If you listened to last weeks presentation then you would understand this.
2. Avacta has already a number of other Affirmer technology projects in place with other applications (non-Covid19 related).
3. Avacta is in advance development of a new tool (like a warhead) to deliver high concentrations of chemotherapy to tumours in cancer patients but directly to the target tumour. This is unlike conventional chemotherapy which is given via a drip or tablet into the bloodstream and it affects the whole body.
4. Avacta is working with multiple multi-billion dollar pharma companies on other projects.

So to be 100% clear as a large shareholder here I can tell you unlike Novacyt who's valuation is focused on PCR testing in a lab. Avacta shareholders are focused on the other therapeutic applications and the amazing fact that they have been able to use the diagnostic advantages of Affirmers to produce the most advanced and most accurate, low cost and useable anywhere Covid19 test which could sell in billions of units is a distinct advantage and unique selling point that will mean that Avacta is sure to be a multibillion-pound company.
I am taking nothing away from Novacyt, I still have a holding there. But this company has multiple dimensions which a long term investor is looking for. I am no rich quick fool, I am an investor. Fully researched and very happy with over 500,000 shares!

At the same time, it is worth remembering - "Avacta owns all the intellectual property relating to the SARS-COV-2 Affimer reagents and retains all commercial rights."

Key points for investors. Again compared to other developers of Covid19 testing kits and devices they are developing potential test formulations which maybe work. Avacta have Affiremer technology which does work and can be used in multiple other delivery systems! This is a unique and clear commercial advantage in the huge global requirement for accurate and safe easy to use testing.

The market is billions of tests per year! Billions!

On balance, no other testing formulation can be adpated as quickly to be used accurately in so many places around the globe.

In theory, you could test a whole population of a country in 10 minutes! That would be something to behold. No other testing device or procedure will get close!
This could be completed every week and the results reported via an APP based system so tracing can be easy to update.
It should be used to test everyone travelling on public transport and would be an essential tool to prevent overseas travellers from coming to the UK if they are found to be positive at checkin they should be refused the right to travel. On arriving in the UK when awiting passport control everyone should take a test and the results collected ahead of the passport checkpoint! Let us be biosecure in the UK. If every country followed likewise then we would be able to make travel safe again!
