The most important point is Avacta owns the patent and the trademark to Affimer Technology, so if we consider the number of opportunities available to them where they can be used for diagnostics and in therapeutics they have everything in their control. That is why they want partnerships! The opportunities to fast track growth when you have the ability to develop solutions in around 8 weeks to new requirements which can then be marketed those to various clients who then have to pay the company for their use becomes one hugely valuable asset.
The only way the competion has to take on Avacta is to have a different solution which doesn’t impede the patent and that will be very difficult!
In this case the intellectual property is with the scientists. Even buying the business, if you don’t have the people it is not worth the acquisition! So for shareholders including company directors who hold that is very good news.
If we end up with multiple giant pharmaceutical companies all partnering with Avacta the sky is the limit here. Once they have on each project the approvals and certification then the number of opportunities for infinite revenue streams is enormous.
If they get this right in a few years time they could (not saying they will) become one of the most important and valuable Biotech companies in the world!

I am still here, still fully invested and in fact yesterday I topped up again.
I was off line yesterday as my wife had to have a procedure at our local hospital relating back to the huge 11 hour operation she had last year. She is very brave but going through a very tough time. When I picked her up her first question was any news on Avacta? She was even sharing information on this forth coming test with the nurses and surgeon! They all said it would be amazing and hope it comes soon as the logistics and cost of the current PCR testing is a nightmare for staff and the lab teams. It is a huge resource drain! So there is another angle on the advantages of a POC Antigen test!

I am not selling out any time soon my focus is the eye on the pre-CISION chemotherapy treatments as you might imagine given what my good lady has been through.

My investing started with saving £50 per month in a fund, then buying some shares and some 10 years later after some choice investments it has helped build a nice portfolio. You can start small, but with good choices you can make good progress.

The MS BAMS partnership with Adeptrix is the easy one for Avacta and as a direct competitor to PCR but with an advantage in areas of the world where buying new equipment is hard it will open options for low cost testing.
The big one in testing for me remains the LFD Point of Care test with Cytiva.
Demand globally for this one will still be off the scale and for some time.
It will lead nicely into the partnership for the Affimer Therapeutic Product to stop the virus. Hopefully with Astra Zeneca.
These 3 partnerships and opportunities have enough to transform Avacta into a global Biotech business.
This will be great news for Avacta’s clients and investors.

In a recent communication given by Avacta when the Affimers were shipped they stated the following:
"The Affimer reagents have also now been studied further by Avacta and, importantly, this has shown that there are Affimer reagents that can work in pairs, both binding to the spike protein at the same time. This means in layman's terms that the test will determine if you have the virus, whether in the early stage, when you have symptoms and when it is fading. If you have the virus in the body you will be positive using the Avacta test. It is a binary postive/negative test.

This is a good question!

Here is what we know:

1. The partnership with Cytiva (formally GE Healthcare) will produce following certification potentially the perfect stick Covid19 test (lateral flow device) which will use saliva and give a result in minutes (less than 10). It is likely to become the worlds best selling test! Within weeks.

Implication - Absolutely Massive

2. The partnership with Adeptrix will be an in hospital / medical centre test using the globally installed mass spectrometer testing using Avacta’s Affimer technology! Within weeks but sooner than Cytiva!

Implication - Huge!

3. A massive new partnership announcement is imminent for a new therapeutics using Avacta’s Affimer technology which for anyone diagnosed will stop the virus and speed recovery. This treatment system will hopefully be developed and be made available within 6 months. Once in place it will neutralise the virus and give the world real hope.

Implication - Massive!

4. Avacta are keen to open up new partnerships for LFD manufactures to get the tests out across the world.

The key point, is Sona are not able to produce 'mass screening', this is being able to supply the planet! Avacta's simple test will have the capability to supply the whole world with a test with the results in minutes. BBN also made reference that although SONA has advanced sales they may have issues still.

Avacta will soon have advanced sales too as the distribution team will be working on this now.

Avacta's timing is still not confirmed 100% but is will have scalability like no other and this is the key. But everyday we are getting closer!

This is the question people are asking!

The answer is nobody knows when this virus or if it will disappear. With people taking all the correct precautions, hand washing,using sanitiser, social distancing using a face mask and a screen in the work place it reduces the risk. But and this is a huge but, people are easily complacent. I have seen this already in businesses I have visited businesses in the manufacturing world in the last few weeks. Tight control on access, temperature check, filling in documentation using sanitisers. But get inside, people group together, talk in close proximity and forget the key points. If these POC tests are it compulsory in work places and used to access public transport, flights, restaurants, sports activities and spectator sports venues you have the opportunity for a big outbreak again.

Remember it is the invisible enemy, that is why it remains a huge risk.

They are relaxing the rules because hospital admissions are falling. It was inevitable as that is why we had lockdown. Remove it and you have a huge risk for a second wave. The way to prevent this is to test with a simple accurate test.

People who invest money make a reasonable return and are risk averse will always walk away too quickly. We are along way from the opportunity here being achieved and this virus will likely have a sting in its tail if we do not follow the full advice and introduce mass testing.

The world wants to get back to normal and the current situation is not financially viable to continue so, governments will roll the dice and see what happens. The people are at risk. The solution, test everyone. If the test is mass produced and low cost as it will become, then you can get the world back to normality.

Avacta hold the key here. I am not likely to sell anytime soon.

I have quietly been building a holding here and this company really seems to be working to accelerate the opportunities in hydrogen as a future for transportation fuel and as they build more stations and are able to draw from renewable energy which due to poor grid balancing is often switched off or curtailed the use of this power to generate hydrogen is going to really expand in my opinion.
There has been much good news in recent updates and this adds to the compelling future for ITM power. This is one company which I continue to tip off to people looking for up and coming companies with huge potential.
Very excited to hold as part of my long term investment portfolio. Hydrogen is looking like it has many options as a future energy source.

Just wanted to say in terms of balance as you think I have no understanding of any other direction here from positive.
Points of conflict for Avacta:
Affimer technology turns out not to be compatible with the materials used on the Cytiva LFD. (highly unlikely as Avacta will have had one in there lab).
Covid19 disappears and no one ever gets the virus again Within days.
Cancer miraculously disappears and no one needs treating - wow I wish that was the case!

But in reality I think you will find research and the information given by Avacta is constantly proven to be accurate and correct and I am not the only intelligent investor here who thinks so.

Will this company succeed. It is highly likely with a large emphasis on highly ;-)

Well I just checked and thought we are about to really fly again! That would be amazing, but I don’t think the BESS project is coming just yet. If it was and we were post Covid19 then we would be set.
If you were to ask my thoughts we are very much more likely to see the completion of the Enerox consortium purchase being completed. This would open up many more avenues to BMN’s global supply opportunity.
This would be equally interesting for all of us investors.
