Ferro-vanadium prices remain steady at $75.5-76.5/kg in Western Europe for 78% material.
Chinese prices caught up 3.1% with Europe last week at $74-76/kg but are expected to push ahead as the authorities enforce compliance with new rules on vanadium content in China.

I think if you looked and researched what is happening know and the South African governments postition on the future and the critical change in direction to renewables and energy storage using as I have said and been clearly illustrated by BBN in his posts that SA has a huge arrow pointing at locally mined, locally designed, locally manufactured chemicals and assembled battery technology bring SA jobs and benefits to the community not only based on building local infrastructure but changing SA for better quality of life and security you will find that Bushveld Energy have hit the nail on the head.

We are following every news item on every outlet relating to energy storage, vanadium, Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries, Eskom, Enegy Storage Projects around the globe, new solar and wind projects and the energy generating potential and every potential vanadium miner and processor on the planet. I am still happy with £1.60 to £2 for year end. Just to be clear on my 2019 year end.

I would be very comfortable with any number over £1 in 2019 and this is an absolute certainty.

There are so many items that most see as a dream, that I think we will see in 2019. Then 2020 will bring those announcements to fruition.

One of the most important parts of the Bushveld Minerals growth story will be the unlocking of this most exciting part of the story. This effectively unlocks the other half of the Bushveld Minerals story.

The world is in a transition phase towards renewables as the realisation that carbon-based power generation needs to be phased out. The Solar and Wind Generation is a significantly low-cost generation platform, but the key is filling in the gaps when there is no wind and the sun is not shining. Energy storage has been unveiled as the key. This was a problem for long term storage and repeated charge and discharge cycles until the vanadium redox flow battery was invented and proven. Bushveld Energy was formed to complete the gap in the market.

This year will see everything become joined up.

Eskom has a BE 120kW /450 kWh VRFB battery installed for a 90-day test which will prove to the SA energy provider that this is the best option for grid storage.

Eskom have multiple contracts available for energy storage batteries in 2019 and they have made no secret that they want to use locally built batteries from minerals from SA. This fits perfectly for BE.

Bushveld Energy is building an electrolyte plant in ELDZ where the batteries will also be assembled.

The first contracts are likely to be awarded in late 2019 or first quarter of 2020 just when the plant will be ready.

These contracts and this industry is going to be huge and SA is looking like they will be leading the field. BMN will supply the vanadium and investment in the mines will produce the vanadium required.

Mikhail the CEO of BE has already said the potential for BE is ten times that of the mining side of the business.

This makes this one of the most exciting moments in BMN's history! The story will be told.

Nelson111 - I can tell you from experience that the dividends are paid into the investment account with HL. Into your SIPP account, your ISA account or your investment account. You can then chose to reinvest in whatever way you wish. In an ISA or a Trading Account, you can take the dividend as cash if you wish. You can do this too if from a SIPP if it has been crystalised.

HL make their money from your trading and account administration. Check the T&C's on the accounts. It is very clear.

You can order one today! I have enquired with them about lead times and suitable sizes for a domestic home installation with consideration for a home EV charging station - looking for the future need for either hybrid or full EV capability.

This market could be interesting but the cost is high. But given 20 years as opposed to 5 years for a Tesla Power Wall it would work out cheaper in the long run.

The best installation sizes for BE will be focused on industrial sizes and upwards as per the Eskon contracts.

It is good that more of these companies are arriving. Competition in the market shows there is demand and if we are supplying the vanadium and the electrolyte very soon then the market will become even more established. We are focused on the SA market, but when Mokopane is ready it is good to be able to supply into a massively growing industry. These industries take time to establish fully. You only have to look at how Tesla started and the EV market is now becoming more mainstream. Industry and power generation companies though need to move faster than the domestic market.

In that light, Bushveld Minerals and Bushveld Energy are all set!

Other news in brief:

Interesting on their daily update it mentions about Scottish Power's £2 billion investment - announced plans for the single biggest investment, directing £2bn into new renewable projects, energy storage and electric vehicle infrastructure.

Also, they mention that Rio Tinto's income in 2018 was dominated by Iron Ore, 66% of their earnings came from this resource. It reminds me that we have a huge resource of Iron ore if we needed to create yet another revenue stream in the future, subject to prices of course. But, our focus is Vanadium!

The key to opening peoples knowledge is once people they are talking about the incredible benefits of the vanadium redox flow battery:
- it creates interest in the technology
- it helps bring knowledge in renewables in a way not seen or understood before
- it opens the very questions about vanadium and its uses
- the huge advantages with respect to life and long term cost savings of the technology
- Vanadium electrolyte can be recycled and used again - this is important as the vanadium makes up 60% of the cost of
the battery. This also is very different from Lithium Ion which has a huge issue with the end of life disposal

In the end, people become interested, ask why you know so much about this and then the investment in BMN becomes a central topic. This is a story that needs to be told over and over as going forward we all know the potential here is beyond our comprehension!

This board has probably some of the best knowledge on Vanadium Redox Flow battery technology and having watched all the presentations and read many articles. However, if you talk to many who work in the energy supply market in the UK they have not heard of the technology. There is definitely a need to find ways in the UK and around the world to educate the huge benefits of Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries over the worlds only understanding of battery technology which is Lithium Ion thanks to Mr Musk and Tesla. So all we can do is share the knowledge we have with those we know. Make energy storage a conversation piece!

India first step into battery storage

India’s first grid-scale battery energy storage system has gone online in Rohini, Delhi, as the country targets 225GW of renewable energy integration by 2022.
The 10MW/10MWh lithium-ion system is jointly owned by AES Energy Storage and Mitsubishi, and supports a Rohini substation operated by Tata Power.
The system will provide “grid stabilisation, better peak load management, add system flexibility, enhance reliability, and protect critical facilities for 2 million consumers.”

Clearly, they have not come across VRFB yet in India!

gatehousemark - I think you will see over the coming years that the world will wake up to vanadium! As an additive in rebar bars in the construction industry, it is not that interesting! In a battery technology that ensures we can use the cheapest renewable sources of energy the sun and wind and create enough energy to power the planet without greenhouse gasses and pollution - it might become as interesting as it gets. It only needs the global media to capture some high-level stories and you will see the picture change very quickly. The foundations are being laid and being an investor here will put you in the best place to see huge growth on your investment. People often say I wish I had discivered that investment before the rest of the world. Well, this is one of the most likely investments in a few years to be one such company. It is never going to be an Apple or Amazon, but in the energy and the mining world it will be likely seen as a Glencore or even a Rio Tinto. Just give it time.

In 1830 Nils Gabriel Sefström who named "vanadium" after the Scandinavian goddess of beauty and fertility, Vanadís (Freyja).

So if anyone asks you about vanadium this is a great fact to have in your back pocket!

If you read the full PFS on Mokopane there was a hint that they maybe Lithium there. However, the value and potential for the vanadium market will grow to such a significant level that you will not need to be too concerned about Lithium at this point. There are many environmental issues with Lithium which may be counterproductive to production in SA.

You should remember that the Mokopane PFS is expected that the mine will produce up to 10,000 mtV, however, we are sure it has the potential to supply at a rate of up to 25,000 mt per annum based on the total reserve if required. Add this on top of 10,000 mtV from Vametco / Brits you have enough! With the total business with BE, it is easy to work a valuation of the business well in excess of £10 per share! Do still need Lithium?
