Sad to say I stopped watching this amateur video well before the end. What a wasted opportunity.

DBX 707 was only tested by Autocar in mid March and CarWow back in February stated that it was a mid year release vehicle. There is an article referring to deliveries in Australia being delayed but the comment at the end of the article states that incorrect estimates were originally given. Which explanation you choose depends on which side of the fence you sit.
At the moment I won't give an estimate as there are too many incalculables.

But I remember in early February 2022 when c26 agreed with 6,800 vehicles and £1.425 Billion turnover and said these were realistic figures. He also said 3,000 sales for the DBX was decent with an average first rev of the car.

Prior to that in early December 2021 he said DBX is a flop.

In late November 2021 he said AML was not on target to hit 6000 vehicles. "Projection this year of 5,666 cars sold".
Actual wholesalers were 6,178, so he was out by 512 for the last Quarter of 2021.

Enough said.

Some months ago, before AML gave their forecast for 2022, I projected £1.425 Billion turnover, based on maintaining 3,000 Sports/GT numbers and increasing DBX to approximately 3,800 with the inclusion of 707 and hybrid. With the unknowns of when the Ukraine war will end and major cities in China reopen, I have difficulty in calculating how these figures may be affected.
I read however, that China is wanting to come out of lockdown by the middle of June, plus interestingly, as I mentioned a few days ago, Bentley calculate there will be a 30% increase in premium luxury SUV sales by the end of the decade.
Aston Martin have the advantage of a strong order book and that gives them flexibility to target production to markets unaffected by the closure problems in China. How long the madness in the Ukraine will last is sadly unknown.

Autocar has a report on the Valkyrie pro which has been delivering rides to journalists in the US and there's another report on the first AMR Pro car being delivered to Heart of Racing in the US who are going to use it to tour racetracks and showcase it's performance.

Revealing how there's the need to create the negative within the positive.

Yahoo! finance had an interesting article today from Pras Subramanian, their Senior Reporter, about the recent Miami F1 race:
With the US being Aston Martin's number one market, it's not surprising the brand was happy to see another race in the series.
"So why do I come (to Miami) " Marek Reichman rhetorically asked. "Because last night at the DBX 707 reveal, there were at least 200 customers. We sell over 6000 cars. If I can meet over 200 customers at every race weekend throughout the world, 23 times 200 is pretty close to over 50% of our customer base".
And it is that face time at glitzy tracks like Miami that lead to more customer goodwill - and sales.
"I've never see a paddock club this big with 300 Aston Martin guests", AM US President Adam Chamberlain said on race day. "Miami and Formula 1 together, people want to be at the race. One of our customers literally ordered another car last night and said, "you guys have done such a good job (at the event), I feel like I need to buy a car!".
"And that's what you want".

I posted on the 6th May that the Head of Investor relations had confirmed that upto the end of the 1st quarter 2022, 24 Valkyries had been delivered. If someone wishes to call them liars then so be it.

Fabulous sounding car with it's incredible rooster tail in the wet. Interesting to hear it set off and later reverse into it's garage after the test using electric power.
I also watched the Autocar test of the V12 Vantage. What was interesting were the cars being tested whilst the recording was being made. One was definitely a Valkyrie judging by it's sound, but the tester also made a comment about another Aston beginning with the letter V that would be on sale soon. Make your own judgement.

Also reminded of the fact that approaching 2,000 of AMLs production this year will have 40% margin.

Reading an article about Bentley this evening and their bosses estimate demand for high end SUVs will increase by a third above today's levels of 40,000 per annum. This additional 13,500 vehicles is a huge increase and explains why supercar/sports/gt manufacturers have entered the marketplace. Their new extended wheelbase model Bentayga will be their flagship model, with loaded examples approaching £300,000. I think Bentley made approaching 6,000 Bentayga's last year. Very satisfying that AML have the best looking and most powerful luxury SUV leaving the factory for customers as we speak. Like them or loathe them, more and more people want ultra luxury SUVs and are prepared to pay for them.

The difference is that yours are deliberate and intended................

You remember well enough c26, when I said I had repeated an assurance I had been given about deliveries of the Valkyrie, which turned out to be delayed for three months to year end. You prefer to call it a lie but then that's a measure of how your mind works. As for my holding? Please feel free to reveal yours since you asked the question.

I don't dance to your tune c26. You have a personal vendetta against Stroll and that's your problem. You've made many statements and even when you are factually wrong, you don't apologise. You're not here out of the goodness of your heart. Incidentally, whenever I've let someone go I always find a replacement first before issuing the P45.

Another big obnoxious SUV! Easy to forget that the SUV was the saviour of Porsche and where would Lamborghini be without the Urus. Many of us don't like SUVs but people buy them because they like them and have the money to indulge. Should companies not make them because a reporter considers them obnoxious. I think people should be free within boundaries to spend their money how they like. If someone doesn't like their choice - tough. Live with it.

As for the Vantage, with the revamp and restyle it actually sells well. It seems there are plenty of people who like it but seemingly it shouldn't be sold because a Porsche is better on a wet, twisty road. As for electrification, AML have the hybrid DBX and other models coming soon within the pipeline that's been stated a number of times. It's all in the presentations. I think one of the factors why these very high end cars sell so well is the involvement of wonderful sounding engines that appeal to many buyers. Long may they last and hopefully Efuels will prolong their existence for many years to come.

If you listen to the presentation which everyone has but some prefer not to take note of the facts they don't like, APAC was down because of a boatload of 200 vehicles, presumably mainly DBXs that missed docking by a couple of days. That would have placed APAC up year on year but it doesn't suit the narrative as the posters who vehemently dislike Stroll will not believe anything he says.
Furthermore and it's something I have said as well as was stated at the presentation, the fact that the order book for Sports and GTs is full and runs into next year, plus the order book for DBXs being up 60% year on year, means the company can prioritise the orders for markets unaffected by the current lockdown. Everyone who manufactures is affected by supply issues but AML have precious little componentry coming in from China, so hopefully they may weather the storm.

Included in Q2 it should have read.

The Head of Investor Relations at AML has stated that 24 Valkyries ( 10 in Q4 and 14 in Q1 ) have so far been delivered. Charlotte has moved on and Sherief Bakr now holds that position.
Listening to the presentation the other day I was struck by the question of how many vehicles were delayed due to shipping issues, particularly those destined for China and the Americas. In the scheme of things it's not critical since these will be included in Q4. Interestingly, it was stated that 200 (DBX?) for China missed being included by a matter of a few days. Draw your own conclusions on how the figures would have looked.

Approximately 25 postings from Toodle pip/chortle today. You have to admire the size of his heart in trying to persuade us with all his facts and information. Considering his frequent rudeness he's definitely not spending his time on here out of the kindness of his heart.

It was some months ago that AML stated that the first quarter of 2022 would be the quietest of quarters this year. I'm struck that Sports/GT are sold out and DBX orders up 60% on last year. Given there will be an impact around the world of the lockdown in China, I'm heartened that the order book allows production of vehicles to be switched to countries that are open as usual. It's strange that chortle takes a perverse pleasure in painting his gloomy pictures which naturally would also affect many other companies who are significantly entrenched in China and don't have the flexibility of AML.

I was also reading a posted article from him about the tiredness of the DBX and DB11. I'm not quite sure the writer is particularly upto date as I don't think the DB11 has been referred to as a core model for quite some time. The Vantage and DBX are very much core models and the reveal of the heavily revamped DB11, DBS and Vantage models is quite close now - little more than 6 months away.

The assertion that the DBX is tired rather suggests the Urus and other competition are rubbing shoulders with dinosaurs. I've rarely come across such fulsome praise for the 707 from a whole panoply of writers and the only issue they sometimes raised was the obvious one - infotainment. My own opinion is that most buyers will be mesmerised by the performance and tolerant of the infotainment. It's strange how opinions differ and also how a few people cannot find a word of praise.

Chortle did say he was going to the AGM and inferred he would be asking questions! Presumably there is a bus to the moon after all.
