It does make you think a little how the Valkyrie engine could perhaps be used elsewhere within the AML range. The new Daytona is sold out, all 599 models at a figure approaching £2 million a pop. Difficult to judge the design without a close look at the real car, but I reckon the Valhalla, from photos alone, is more of a match. Oddly, the Daytona is not a light car, probably about the same as the Valhalla, so a bespoke body and the Cosworth V12, slightly detuned for regular use, would be a comparable car. Would Aston dare to do something like this. Furthermore, read somewhere that EU manufacturers of under 10,000 vehicles would get a stay of execution regarding the 2030 cut off for ICE engines. Maybe things will also change with e fuel and hydrogen.

Since this is your first post, suggest you research all the podcasts, video calls and quarterly reports that most of us have spent the time listening to over the last couple of years. It'll take a good few hours, but the statements are there and not just from Stroll. Or you could write to Investor Relations at AML and post the reply.

I seem to remember Andy Palmer created the mess, signing off the abomination that was the Vantage, filling the dealerships to inflate the figures, offering cut price deals to try and move the stock, floating the company and pocketing many millions. The company now is within a few months of launching heavily redesigned versions of three quarters of their model line up, with high margins that can at last begin a new chapter for the company. Myself, I would have been disgusted if this company had been allowed to be bought by the Chinese. The whole western world wants to look very carefully at how dependent we have become upon Chinese manufacturing and supply. It is a dangerous situation we have allowed to happen, not dissimilar to countries being dependent on Putin's gas and oil.

If looking and sounding similar meant AML wouldn't sell a much more expensive car, why would wealthy people spend a fortune on watches that still just tell the time, or a £1,000 bottle of wine that they probably can't tell the difference from a £20 bottle from Asda, or a £3,000 handbag when they can buy a £30 copy on Ebay. People like to buy a brand for bragging rights and the fact that many parts are handmade and hand assembled.

Earlier this year Herr Moers stated there would be a reveal of the heavily revised Vantage, DB11 and DBS before the end of the year. I've no doubt the interiors and interior dash layout issues will have been addressed. They could have done this sooner but with a major revision coming what would have been the point. I just hope Reichman has used some of the talent around him as his own track record doesn't benefit from scrutiny.

I don't think a V12 Vantage roadster would fit the description of a very special Aston. Is it a Valkyrie challenger for outright honours in the WEC. We'll have to be patient although such a vehicle would be much closer to Aston's DNA.

I remember a few weeks ago a reporter was at Silverstone reporting on the V12 Vantage. He commented about a very special Aston that was pounding round the circuit but said he couldn't reveal anything at all about this particular car but that news would be released before too long. We are due a reveal towards the end of the year of the very heavily revised DBS, DB11 and Vantage so I don't imagine it is any of these.

c26, let's make this clear for you to understand.
AML have stated numerous times that Q1 would be their quietest and lowest number for units. Not the disaster you tried to attach to them.
Q2 numbers were slightly in excess of 1,500, still affected by component supplies, lockdowns and the war in Ukraine. The same issues affecting all large companies with markets around the world. Not confined just to AML. Instead you try to combine Q1 and Q2 numbers into a disaster and multiply x2 to get full year volumes.
AML have only just restated their guidance figures for 2022 and they are unchanged. Unfortunately, you believe the Board is lying and prefer your own doom and gloom. The thing is, we all remember your quarterly estimate in 2021 which missed the mark by approximately 600 units.
Now, as a bystander, who would you believe. Your track record on volumes is not good.

Your extrapolation of figures is way off the mark and well you know it. We've only to look at one particular quarter last year when you pronounced what AML would be producing. You were out by about 600 units.
Six months ago AML stated Q1 would be their leanest quarter. They have reinterated for the nth time that 2022 would yield approximately 6,500 units, even with all the problems worldwide. I presume the Board must be deliberately misleading shareholders.

You need to calm down and stop spinning your spin. Forever repeating everything does not make you more right.
"You can expect worse results in Q2 than Q1". Quite the opposite, even allowing for the logistical problems around the world, which incidentally affect all manufacturers and exporters. It isn't just Aston that has to negotiate these waters although your posts would like to suggest otherwise.
"H2 results will be dreadful and everyone knows it". Think you may have meant Q2 or H1, but either way you were well off the mark. Presume you'll apologise, especially after asking me to apologise for repeating what someone else said. No? Didn't think so.

In a report dated 30th March, Miami AML Residences announced the 391 unit building has surpassed 90% in sales. January and February combined saw over $100 million in sales. The triplex penthouse offering the AML Vulcan has increased it's asking price from $50 million to $59 million.

What strikes me about first half year UK registrations is they are in line with expectations - a small increase over last year and from this month the 707 models are being delivered, plus presumably the V12 Vantage models. The year end statement gave guidance that 2022 figures would be approximately 8% higher and I don't see anything yet to counter that - other than the as yet unknowns of restrictions in chips and/or certain parts supplies.
Valkyrie numbers are as yet an unknown but there are certainly a significant number appearing on Utube from locations around the globe.
707 numbers will significantly impact 3rd and 4th quarter numbers with associated high margins, plus the V12 Vantage. It's also expected there will be a reveal towards the end of the year of the heavily revised Sports and GT models. Further details on Valhalla and Vanquish still to come.

It's nothing to do with the source or quality of the weather information. It's to do with how the car generates sufficient heat into the tyres and all race cars are different. Various teams have struggled over the years with this issue and some have resorted to various clever technology to transfer heat from wheels to the tyres. If you try and heat the tread rather than the carcass you run a high risk of destroying the tread. Similarly you can't just change the toe in or camber of the suspension. Heating tyres in wet conditions with low ambient is quite a dark art.

I'm curious how the Mercedes powered Aston Martin F1 car sounded awful without 6 other cars on the grid sounding awful as well with exactly the same engine.
The revised Aston was working very well in the dry in Canada and the dry practise at Silverstone yesterday. They were undone with not being able to get the rain tyres into their operating temperatures in Canada for qualifying and I suspect there's a similar issue impacting on their performance today.
But then they are an easy target for those who have their knives ready to stick in.

Point taken Paul. I watched the short video of the red Valkyrie on the race track and wondered why anyone would ever play music when you have the soundtrack of that glorious V12. Case of non petrol heads doing the final cuts. Used to be the same with rally videos from the past when music drowned out the engines.

It really is a stunningly beautiful car and it is beauty that helps to sell cars. A lot of standing start times are irrelevant now as achieving the performance becomes painful for the driver and aside from race tracks where can you deploy the power of the vehicle. Once you get into a certain elevated price point the car becomes an investment consideration coupled with the beauty of it's design and rarity. Looking at the Valhalla, it's doing 100mph standing still. Who wouldn't want one.

Great shame to see the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 miss out at the Nordschlief 24 hours. It had been the class of the field and leading comfortably after about 7 hours. When you consider the amount of factory support for Audi, Mercedes, BMW and Porsche, they were doing a remarkable job against about 20 works supported German cars.

There is a video you can find which shows Nicki Thim sliding off the right hander leading on to the main street. It doesn't seem a driver error, more likely some oil or fluid on the racing line. A real pity as I would back Nicki Thim in any situation to deliver and I just think fate wasn't smiling on them.

I was reading elsewhere that Nicki Thim had tried in conjunction with an established GT3 team to run a Vantage in the DTM this year. Unfortunately there was no spare capacity to build another GT3 car as the order book was full. This will mean it was full at Prodrive, but it isn't surprising when you see the number of Vantages racing in Europe and North America. Besides the TF Sport GT3 at the Nurburgring, I counted at least 5 more GT4s in the entry list.
