Yeah well we need to work out if Putin is serious about peace talks or just using them to look like the great leader he likes his people to think he is. There is evidence today that the Russian internal propaganda messaging is changing to position Putin as the 'rational adult in the room', who is going to lead the way in bringing peace. They'll need some time to establish that message amongst the public, especially the ultra-nationalists - because that will involve an element of compromise on the original objectives. So I doubt there'll be a meeting this week.

On the other hand, if we listen to Putin's hardline inner cronies then Russia is doing just fine, can ride out any sanctions, claim they 'tried' at the talks and - when they've reset their combat power in the East - go for the rest of DNR/LNR and a land corridor for Crimea. We know they want that, and I suspect they're going to try while telling their people that Ukraine wouldn't 'denazify'. If that transpires I hope the sanctions rally bite and Ukraine biffs them on the nose again.

Mac, I'm told English isn't your first language so I'll bear that in mind. Your statement is incorrect, because I never said that. Actually, if you re-read carefully you'll notice I pointed out two specific instances where negotiation news would be credible. I look forward to your retraction.

Mac, you either misunderstand or try to wilfully mislead. I'm not saying this guy isn't who saying who he claims to be, or where he claims to be. I'm saying that none of the reporting, including that tweet, is credible. There's numerous reasons for this generally, but specifically in the case of that tweet, it doesn't spell out what is meant by those statements, and the bit about Crimea doesn't stack up with known facts. It's essentially valueless. If you bothered to try to understand my whole post you'll see my point is to wait for official news, and don't take anything published beforehand at face value. Common sense really!

Let's look at this dispassionately. If someone is going to use the war as leverage, there has to be an actual lever to pull. So what could that be?
a) no-one else will buy - resources in high demand, so doubtful?
b) Ruble is weak - I don't see why the Ruble is relevant to the deal.
c) Russia will nationalise the assets - I doubt they'd do that to a BRICS buyer.
d) Sanctions prevent sale of product - not likely to be true from what I read.
e) Russian banks/financial system sanctions - shouldn't be an issue for a British firm to receive and distribute cash.
f) resource value diminished - not happening.
g) operational costs increasing - actually the reverse is true.

There will be other potential levers. Through them out there and let's test them.

None of this news about the negotiations is particularly credible. Let's start with the Russians - well whatever they say has a very high chance of being total lies, so we can discount that. Moving on to the Ukrainian
"Adviser to the Head of the Office of President of Ukraine". Well his Twitter post says "Istanbul Summary". Summary of what? Ukraine's wishlist? It must be, because it contains "Crimean issue returns to the negotiating agenda". Which the Russians have said can't be negotiated because their constitution says so. Uh oh - contradiction. So what's the truth? Doesn't matter. Why? Because the only thing we can trust will be either a signed agreement, or just maybe, a statement of an agreed position from a 'neutral' (someone like the negotiation host/chair). Until there's an agreement, everything else is positioning.

If you are day trading large amounts of EUA I think you are either very brave or insane. i think genuine investors should ignore the noise, await the official results, and hold EUA for the long term rewards if you still believe that the BoD strategy will come to fruition. Personally, despite some squeaky bum moments over the last month, I'm still holding.

Absolutely, because as sentiment changes the risk changes for those people. And the risk changes because the SP is made up of factors that include the fundamentals but also much more - like market factors, industry factors, and political factors. Currently the factors contributing most to the SP are external. But as those factors hopefully settle down over the next few months, the SP will rise again to reflect the internal/EUA specific fundamentals.

Mac, I haven't said anything of the sort. Are you confusing me with another poster? I did say that I didn't understand your comment about the start of the processing season/weather. I see now, in hindsight, that you may have been referring to Tigra's post about wanting an RNS. Is that correct?
