I'm not sure there's ever been any news of any institutional investment. I'd be interested to hear if there was.
This should be obvious but shares held in nominee accounts by institutions acting as agents for individuals do not count as institional investors, because they are not investing, their clients are. They are merely facilitating parties in a transaction.
The reason that genuine institutional investment is so notable, is that it is made after analysts have done detailed due diligence - so providing a measure of professional confidence in a company. They often have access to info, or people, that the retail investor does not. They undertake an assessment of a company in keeping with the large amounts of money that they invest. This is totally separate to nominee share holdings, purchased mostly by amateurs, who may do little to no serious research.
