cj62, I know very little about that aspect but that does sound serious. Hopefully the poor in those nations won't be added to the list of Putin's victims. I suppose the good news for those people is that African countries aren't sanctioning Russia like the West is, so they'll still buy grain from Russia. They won't be counted as 'unfriendly' countries, so will still be able to buy in dollars - that's a big win for them!

I agree that the wider market has been a right drag.

I want to make my own points, and not just take apart other people's arguments. I think the following two things are critical for the long term:

a) Russia is withdrawing from stalled fronts, but fighting still in the East and South where they think they can win (whatever a 'win' looks like). Is this to get a better negotiating position, or try to keep the land corridor to Crimea for ever?
b) War crimes - Russia is undoubtably guilty of war crimes on a massive scale. The Ukrainians won't let those go, so they'll have to be dealt with as part of any long term agreement. The Russian regime won't hand over officials to the Hague. Big question mark on how that will play out.
c) Finally, I see no evidence yet that any of this will stop EUA doing what it needs to do. Obviously this concerns us even while all the time we think of the victims of Putin's illegal war.

No chance. The sanctions were put in place because of the invasion. An agreement of sorting out the mess will be needed. The US and Europe won't accept a mere ceasefire as being the end of it - one caveat: a frozen conflict may result in a softening over the long term, perhaps.

They can't - they need the cash. Notice how they threaten to play hardball, then keep backing down. Russia is weak, just like its army.

Despite Mikhail's lips moving when he said this, it is plausible. Why? Because the US imports a small % of its oil from Russia. So 43% more of a small volume would not be hard to do. It's not that significant.

Russian propaganda. If Putin hadn't illegally invaded Ukraine there wouldn't be a war. Funny how that works. There was zero justification for this armed aggression. Output from a few wash plants ain't gonna cut it. And even selling into a spike with my latest purchase of 42125 shares @ 11.62p isn't going to get me near breakeven, nevermind a massive profit. No issue, no need to be alarmed. Not even relevant to EUA for various reasons but here's one: we send our metals to other countries.

Mac, People here seem to have the measure of you. I admit that I don't quite get you - you want peace, don't we all, but your comments over recent weeks seem biased towards Russia - a nation that believes in aggression to take what they think they deserve. I believe that you are following the war closely, but are not using all available sources because there are some things you have said that are contradicted by reasonably sound evidence or are only a partial picture (your comments about troops pulling back to Belarus are an example).

Putting humanity aside for one moment and thinking only about filthy money - I have no idea what your EUA interest is, but if you are a EUA trader then I understand your wish to be really positive about the war ending soon as any news like that will get you a big spike to sell into. That would explain why you attack anyone who presents a more realistic view - which you might see as pessimistic. Otherwise, if you are a genuine LTH like me, then hopefully you'll agree that peace isn't required for us to have our massive special dividend payday, and actually peace is only a pre-requisite if you need to sell your shares pre-dividend. I hope you agree because we all know that peace will be difficult to secure, and could take some time - and we've been waiting for our EUA payday for quite a while now.

I'm not interested in any investigation. I hope UJO isn't wasting any time on it. I've been in UJO since 13 May 2019 @ 20.76p. That's long enough frankly and it's been a very rocky road. I want UJO to concentrate only on making cash, and increasing revenue ASAP. If David does read this board then I'd bet my house that most shareholders will agree with me.

Putin preparing for a frozen conflict in LNR/DPR plus the land corridor to Crimea is the scenario I most expect, unfortunately. I think Putin will try to live with the sanctions - and work around them or expect the West to ease them off eventually.

Be aware that Patrick Lancaster is apparently a pro-separatist Putin mouthpiece. One must be wary of source crediblility, especially in a situation like this, but I see multiple sources where I see Lancaster mentioned all saying the same thing. Personally, having seen some of his output myself, I'm not saying that everything he reports is wrong, but he certainly looks at events through a pro-Russian anti-Ukrainian lens. 'Pernicious' might be the right word for his methods?

I stand with Ukraine, though the irony of holding my investment in Russian resources does not escape me. You can follow your own conscience, but there are multiple posters here posting his stuff as if it is sincere journalism. Personally, I think it smells more like Russian propaganda. I don't know why these posters are doing this, or how it relates to their interest in EUA, but be wary of them.

While I always caution against premature chicken counting, that does sound like as positive an update that could be provided prior to news on an actual agreement.

Hold your horses, there's no sign that means peace unfortunately. At the very least it means the Ruskies realise that there is no chance of cracking Kiev and Putin is pulling out some troops for re-organisation, and will then likely either keep them in Belarus as a threat or send them to the East (DNR/LNR). Hopefully the Ukrainians can make them leave all their equipment behind.
