UK Steel says that in 2024 the UK exported 180,000 tonnes of semi-finished and finished steel to the US, worth £370 million, some 7 per cent of the UK's total steel exports by volume and 9 per cent by value.

Personally I don't think the new US tax on our steel is really that much of a problem in the whole scheme of things. Certainly not enough to warrant handing over SMR contracts to the US.. but hey.. what do I know.

Just trying to add a little smile to what is quite a gloomy extended period of time for us long term holders.

To me, reading tea leaves or making out a 'not pretty' or obvious patterns in previous price movements are somewhat very similar and have no bearing on what is currently going on or what is going to happen with future price movements.

You took the words out of my keyboard.. I've just logged on and reading through those messages.. Can't believe some of the silly statements of the calculations.. it's a simple 15 for 1 share consolidation ffs 🤦‍♂️

The main reason I would be against it... It gives a further height for the share price to fall from as at the moment the share can only fall circa 14p (= bust).. hopefully it won't come to that. Unfortunately every share consolidation I have been unlucky enough to be involved in has resulted in the share price falling. Institutional investors generally don't like penny shares so it may give way to further investments with the a '£'s' share price tag... but we will all have to wait and see as I'm sure there are many LTH here that are suffering along with me (circa 40p to break even 🤦‍♂️)

Not at all... my post was more sarcasm and out of frustration with the UK government(s)... they have been and still remain too 'king' slow to catch a cold where as others see potential and grab it with both hands. We just kick the can down the road and then suddenly left with looking at what may have been whilst others smile with a hint of humility.

Take the runway at Heathrow as the latest example... My god, the p1kies would've had that fully tarmacked before the week was out!! 😁

I think you'd see the Chinese SMR's on the market within a few months... They don't mess about with consultations, Environmentalists etc.. and all that red tape.. they just crack on and get it done.

eg. Heathrow 3rd runway... in talks since the 1980's... that's 40+ years ago & if started today, it's estimated completion time is still 10 yrs away.. Unfortunately we are our own worst enemies!
