As interesting as those posts were to read.. I think the overall point is somewhat missed.. The investment in RR is not what I was alluding to (despite this being the RR board 🤷♂️)
I am speaking about the absolute mess the whole country is in today.. putting RR investments to the side.. We have failing systems across the board, NHS, Local authorities, Prison systems, Legal system, Education system, Child care/nursery system, Elderly care..... the list is endless to be honest.
Just as an example, on what side of stupidity would you have to be on to say 'Our prisons are now full so what we need to do is release the criminals early!' FFS let us not forget that a when we hear/read of a prisoner getting a sentence of ten years, that actually only means five at most 🤷♂️.. oh yes, I forgot.. they need the space so let them out early and the fickle members of the public won’t realise or understand.
Whilst I know that the answers to all the problems do not carry simple solutions but surely the answer isn't just more of the same.. 'chuck more money at it' but unfortunately this is exactly what the 'leading two parties' all profess every single election and again, the very fickle members of the public who inadvertently believe that this will solve all their issues faced on a daily basis.
Money can really only be raised by three factors.. raise or introduce more taxes, cut-back on current services provided to 'save money' (that term used very loosely) or borrow shed-loads more. Unfortunately this is what is done every time by the two leading parties. Tell me where the average member of the public are all better off with these action being taken? (Excluding those invested in RR 😁).
We seem to have lost touch with reality, we are human beings, every one of us and we are turning ourselves into anti-social fooookwits that do not have any strength or compassion for anyone around them. We don’t have to leave the house or speak to anyone any more, we don’t even have to bend down to put our shoes on as Sketchers have given us ‘slip-ins’ because let’s face it, who has the time to put their feet in shoes the conventional way!
What we need is a party in power that wants to tackle the FOUNDATION of all the issues and then the problems can be resolved from the ground up.
