You would think wouldn't you. Hammerhead, jethro tie back etc etc. If XOM were to farm in to Orinduilk. the Sp would soar. However why haven't they done by now it s the basic question. Maybe they can just wait until the clock ticks down on drilling deadline?

If you were him why would you? Assuming he thinks he can get the SP moving forward and a positive momentum built over the next year or two, I think he'll tough it out. He doesn't need the money and he once said he would retire by leaving in a box. On top the other founders were bought in at 2.5 a share and many of the acquisitions at 4.20 a share.

Finally the ego is huge and there is no way he will be want to be seen as failing, which it would be at less than £4 a share.

I would have thought if trading in H1 were material worse than previously communicated they would be required to issue an update to the market, similarly with any material change to the FY outlook.

Judging by his comments in his last CNBC interview I think it will be same tough market out there blah blah. Basically an echo of WPP. Best we can hope for is some green shoots but I'm not holding my breath. Interested to see WPP say they expected tech spending to pick up later in the year. I think this, once the US election is out of the way, is the best that we can hope for.

Changed my view on this. I don't see this anytime soon. Recent director purchases would indicate there is nothing that the company knows about upcoming as trading in the company's own stock ahead of a known bid would be considered trading on inside info.

I think we are stuck in the 60's for the foreseeable.For this reason I'm thinking of bailing, so good news for other holders as for sure the day after I sell there will be a bid at a 50% premium!

I agree they will not but I disagree with your reason.

Google will buy any company that it can integrate into its platform. If S4 had some magic sauce that Google could use to increase its offer to advertisers it would buy it. Tech platforms are like hungry T Rex's, they gobble up anything that can add value of their algorithms. However I doubt very much S4 have that sauce.or at least enough that would make a difference to Google.

Surprised to see more market reaction to what looks like a very strong set of results, upped divii and a bullish outlook.

BBOX looks like a bit of banker to me. Sustainable and progressive dvi in a world of falling rates and a NAV back on an upward trajectory. What's not to like?

I see WPP have sold their share of PR agency FGS (formerly Finsbury ) giving it a valuation of $1.6bn. 22 rev of 450m, 1300 employees. Got to love America...

Crazy yes but also predictable. It seems to me he has completely lost control of the narrative. Whoppers, 20% margins yada yada. What about doing something useful like doing what you said you would do. Here is a good example: what happened to the share buys backs. I seem to remember him saying buy backs would be used to cancel out new issuance. It hasn't happened and zero explanation. Another reason to invite shorters on board is by not doing what you said you would do.

It's nothing to do with MM's. Look at today's RNS. We see selling down by insti's. This weeks presentation was ho hum. It's be a long walk north from here unless a bid materialises, which is now looking unlikely to me.

you're right of course he has always been like this but in light of the foot shooting and **** ups over the last two years some humility might be in order, but then again maybe i'm asking too much.

If I were him I'd be keeping my head down and getting my business back on track. All he is doing is giving people like me the hump and drawing attention to the lamentable performance of his company.

I see he is pontificating on politics in the Times this morning. Meanwhile his stock opens 5% lower. What is the point of this apart from him massaging his ego. As a shareholder I get no value, in fact it probably detracts from S4.

I am guessing there is no bid on th e horizon. All the press stuff placed by Rothschild has gone quiet so looks like no takers. I think the sp is at the right level for the performance.
