I don't think the extension necessarily means a deal is more likely. If the talks do eventually break down each side will be looking to blame the other. If WG. had not agreed to the extension then Sidara would have had all the ammunition they need, so why give it to them? It's as much about protecting your position should a deal not be reached as it is about getting the best deal you can.

Not sure why THG isn't yet showing in the FTSE250 index, but if it was it would currently be the biggest faller of the day. Great start...

What makes everyone so sure MA's intentions are hostile here?

He was let in to Ingenuity when it was syphoned off for pennies and is now building a significant stake in ReaminCo. What's to say he's not in cahoots with MM and the rest of the 65% club? Once they have 75%+ between them they may well take RemainCo for peanuts as well?

God! What is it about these boards?

Someone asks a perfectly legitimate question, looking for a bit of help with a complex subject that many, including myself, have difficulty getting their head around, and they get criticised for it. Might it not have been better to address the question, or if you have nothing constructive to add, just keep schtum? These boards would be a much better place fot it...

Maybe Phyl is not yet invested and is doing a bit of research before deciding whether or not to take the plunge, who knows? Who cares? What Phyl does or doesn't do will not effect any of us in any way. But the question does (or should) stimulate a discussion, hopefully an intelligent one, and from that we could all benefit.

This is one of the better boards on LSE. Maybe it would be better to keep it that way.

To me that's the most likely outcome here. Value expectations are too far apart between each side so it is almost impossible to agree a price that is acceptable to both. A 'merger of equals' solves that problem for both WG. and Sidara.

What I'm struggling to see is what that means exactly to us. Hopefully a more realistic SP, though nowhere near where it has been recently, but with some longer term prospects of the combined entity making some real money. We would retain skin in the gain, should we wish, and I think It would be a great long-term hold.

And the Glencore facility was only extended until June, so they need to get their a*ses into gear.

Where I work they have recently announced a voluntary severence scheme, to be run over the next 2 years. They need to save £20m over that period so are asking for 400 volunteers, 200 to go by August and a second round to follow soon after. Management have stated that £5m per anum of the necessary cost savings is directly due to the hike in NI contributions announced in the budget.

This drop is relentless. Whether is's justified or not, I can't sit and watch my money evapourate any longer. I've been conflicted between what RG has been doing for a while now i.e. filling his boots, and what the SP has been doing i.e. continuosly declining. I believed he knew something that I was missing, but judging by the SP performance it seems he is the only one that can see it.

I did that a little while ago. Thought I'd bagged a bargain. Now down 22% on that tranche alone. This is relentless. I'm seriously thinking of biting the bullet and dumping this. I need to go and do something constructive before I do something silly.

Where does it say the IOC's are going to get $16/barrel? I thought the KRG were getting that money?

The new CEO, whoever that may be, certainly has the option to kitchen sink everything and clear out all the skeletons, so why wouldn't they? For me the bigest problem is money, or lack of. How would TLW fund Kenya? They are struggling to pay off existing loans so borrowing more is not an option. Re-financing what they already owe is going to be difficult enough.

Anton, to save me the trouble of reading all 138 pages, what's your synopsis?

To me RD (effectively) leaving on Friday (before a suitable replacement has been found) doesn't imply that Kenya is going to happen any time soon. In fact it looks like TLW aren't even sure what's currently going on in Kenya, otherwise RD would surely have hung around to take credit for it?
