One for the FCA if ever I've seen it.

SP goes up sharply over a week or so then drops 20% on the 'news' of a failed merger, news that no shareholder even knew about. Well there were obviously plenty out there that knew what was going on, just not the PIs as usual.

What a mess this market is.

It's a much better board without having to engage with TAMPAX, that's for sure. I can't ever remember reading anything of any value whatsoever from him/her/it, so why bother?

Maybe MA is just ensuring he remains above the 10% threshold after MM gets his CLN approved? The number of shares in issue will increase by about 14-ish percent if MM converts the loan, so MA needs to be above about 11.4% to ensure he stays above 10% after conversion.

A bit of Googling:

"Shareholders holding more than 10% of the company's shares can often prevent a "squeeze-out" where the majority shareholder(s) attempt to buy out the minority shareholders at a price they deem insufficient. This protection is usually subject to any contrary provisions in the company's articles of association"

So maybe MA is just protecting his own interests, and hopefully we will also benefit from that? Or he's in cahoots with MM and they take it on the cheap between them. I have absolutely no idea which way this is going to play out.

What I can't understand is why?

Who has done it and what is their motive. How do they stand to gain from it. If they had nothing to gain they wouldn't have done it. What is the ulterior motive here?

It begs the question, though, as to why THG would put all its eggs in one basket (case?) like Ingenuity to handle all of its sales etc? Surely choosing a company that is profitable, sustainable, reputable, well run, trustworthy, etc. etc. etc. would have been a better choice?

The only way to get anything done will be to go to the AGM and make your voice heard. If a large group turned up and demanded answers to some of the perfectly valid questions raised here it would put the lot of them on the spot. Imagine the publicity. Moulding and his crew would be furked.

just voted against the lot of them, although i doubt we have enough shares between us to make any difference. what we really need to do is show up at the agm, make our voices heard and make a scene. that seems the only way to get at moulding and his crew. get the financial press involved, if they can be bothered, which i doubt very much. they don't seem too interested in anything thg or the bod get up to. but molding hates bad publicity, the vain ******, so it would be a reak kick in the pods for him if it did happen.

18 to authorise the company to purchase its own shares

19 to authorise the directors to allot converted shares and disapply statutory pre-emption rights

The only positive... is that when your original investment is 60% down the odd 3% per day drop doesn't erode your original capital by the same amount, relatively speaking. Small comfort though, eh?

We've all learned a painful lesson from this one...

In an orderly wind-down I suspect you are right Captain.

But this could get disorderly very quickly without some financial backing, of the type Sidara are offering. And under those circumstances who knows?

I'm seriously thinking of chucking the towel in here. The BoD seem to be in cahoots with Sidara so God only knows what they are willing to accept to cover up their past failings, failing that it now looks like LTHs are going to end up paying for.

To say the cash injection means nothing to existing shareholders is naive to say the least.

The fact is, without that backing, WG. is in a perilous state. What would the SP be without that money? Who knows, but I doubt it would be anywhere near 35p after the vultures had finished with it.

I raised this same issue a couple of days ago and that was before Trump let rip. Things are much worse now, however, making money trunps (with a small 't') everything, so it's bery much game still on for me.

On 'Liberation Day' as the Trumpster likes to call it, I wonder what Sidara are thinking?

They cited geo-political instability last time. Well the world doesn't look any more stable at the moment, does it? I think they spot an opportunity to pick up WG. on the cheap, something that WG. and their major investors cannot and will not contemplate. But then again, WG. has gotten itself into such a mess, how can it refuse?

Still all to play for. And I still think a JV of some sort is the solution for both sides.

Some lunacy on this board this morning. How anyone can still be dreaming of 200p plus takeovers is delusional. After that update this is nearing fire sale territory. Either take Sid's low-ball offer or get significantly diluted with a new debt facility. Not a great choice but that's where we are.
