No one knows anything. In summary, PHE said at the CMD they had enough money for 12 months, then decided to raise £1.25m, reduce the award price of their shares and then go mute.

Pat - I agree, but PHE's market is new build, expansion and replacement of decommissioned infrastructure.

The government don't own the incinerators, so it's the 3rd parties who have invested 10's millions in existing infrastructure, that will have to pay to update them with carbon capture.

PHE should be in the mix for new build etc. Hopefully industry know more about what PHE are up to that they are telling shareholders.

Fair enough Divvyup, my opinion differs and we might be talking at cross purposes.

For me, PHE need their own data very quickly, not mess about with contracts allowing them to use someone else's; which they've hopefully been gathering since the FTU was operational.

You can't market something if you don't have the basic raw data to be able to present the product / service to a potential customers, who has the money and ability fund a trial or full scale site. If the priority is funding the office via randomly sent in samples, they'll have a long wait for a contract; something they literally can't afford.

I can't seriously imagine they're hanging around for Bridgend Council to send in a batch of empty smokey bacon crisp packets to decide what the output data is on such a commonly recycled product/type of plastic!

There's potential for the sale of Biochar from waste plastic (discussed on here before), but it's not going to be the big Biochar market.

That will come from agricultural waste and biomass! This has the potential to be a multi Billion pound industry, replacing certain fertilisers and various other nutrient inputs for farmland and agroforestry etc etc. The potential use of this in restoring depleted peatland, lowlands, wetlands, bogs, highlands etc is colossal, not to mention reforestation and helping to prevent flooding.

Hopefully this is an area they are currently exploring and testing, as the US are way ahead on Biochar already, compared to the UK. 99% of farmers I've spoken to have never heard of it!!

Is there anything stopping them being proactive and getting the 10 most likely feedstock materials and getting on with the testing, ensuring faster results?

Which means they can use them in their £1/2m worth of marketing activity!

If PHE charge for the testing, then it's not their data to go public with. They need their own validate results, not waiting for someone to send in half a dozen pairs of trainers!!

Pretty sure they said they'd tested tyre crumb. I wonder if it met expectations or not?
