I think it was reasonable to assume that based upon Q4 production of 137k oz and also the company comments at the time, that Q4 output could be used as a yardstick going forward. - Not so, with a 20% reduction in output forecast for Q1-19 compared to Q4 -18. - This for me is the most worrying aspect of today's announcements - As usual, something doesn't add-up here. - For me, it creates extreme vulnerability for the SP for the rest of the year. The slightest setback and the SP will be crucified. Once again, with such a poor start, they will have to pull rabbits out of a hat for the remaining quarters. An all too familiar story I'm afraid.

Just a point on the dividend. - With the AGM set for some time in April, no specific date as yet, It looks as though the final dividend will be paid in the new tax year 19/20 for UK investors. -

One thing sticks out, it seems they are all well aware of the 'Bona fides' of those companies that applied for the new licences. - 'Lord of the Ringers' Veritas for one. - Tibbs made sure of that didn't he. - Surely there will not be a repeat.

Re Tomorrow. - I think a low-ball forecast of 520k - 540k oz to give themselves some wriggle room. - Also, there is a reason why they have delayed the 'Finals' this year. I'm hoping it might have something to do with the CC. - Well, it costs nowt to dream.

At least we've put on weight this week, some meat on the bone, as a buffer in the event of set-back news on Monday.

If there was a takeover and it was on the basis of equity for shares, no money involved, like Randgold. I wonder how it would be taken by Centamin shareholders. - Just one further thought, if the cc is finally resolved, then we might be ripe for takeover. What a coincidence it would be if that were to happen.

I should have added that as a result of Gold's elevation to Tier 1 status, the LBMA are forecasting POG to be $1532 by the end of 2019.

Most already know what Basel 111 means but for those that don't let me try to shed some light. -This is a version of my understanding and may not be perfect in it's detail. - Every year a banking convention takes place in Basel (Switzerland) under the auspices of the Bank of International settlement. (BIS). It's at these conferences that rules & regs re International banking standards are formulated and agreed. At the latest conference, Basel 111, it was agreed that 'Physical Gold' held by the banks, be given Tier 1 status. - Meaning that every $1 of gold held on account is valued at $1 for the purpose of meeting liquidity requirements. Previously 'Physical Gold' was classed as a Tier 2 asset where only 1/2 of it's value was counted. - This means that Banks can now carry 'Physical Gold' as assets where it's full value is measured against International standards for meting liquidity requirements. - This represents a sea-change in banking-practice and why accumulation of 'Physical' is currently underway. - Hope this is helpful. - Anything glaringly wrong feel free to correct, not only for my benefit but for everybody else's as well.

Hi Tiger - I think last year has left it's mark on all of us. - Your caution is well understood - There are two event-horizon occurring within the next two months that hopefully will support momentum going forward:

!. - From April 1st under the Basel 111. accord, Gold is promoted to a Tier 1 asset .' CentralBanks/Banks are already building up stocks and the accumulation will continue.

2. The Kinesis Monetary System is about to launch and will require the purchase of Billions of dollars worth of gold and silver to mint the coins required for said launch. It is expected to create a massive demand event. that is likely to have a significant effect on the POG going forward.

These unfolding influences are on top of everything else that is taking place. -

Hi Tibbs - Yes, it is noticeable. - They're probably not as daft as us and sold-out. :-) -
I honestly believe we are on the threshold of some significant movements this time. - Also, suddenly, fundamentals are back in fashion. Things like Negative-Debt, money in the bank, EPS, free-cash-flow etc. are being talked-about as being desirable attributes in this failing world. Attributes that Centamin has held for a long time now, but for whatever reason, were not recognised. Here's hoping that at last, scales are falling from eyes and these strengths are now carrying some weight.

It's possible we're experiencing some released compression with the SP. - Monday is going to be interesting. - There'll be mixed news but if the end result is 'Steady as she goes' that'll do me.

Obviously, party's interested in providing St2 finance will be well aware of 'Ginas' deal. No doubt they will weigh it's effects in the overall scheme of things whilst at the same time have ambitions along similar lines. - Bearing in mind that risk to the 'New lenders' will have to accommodate this arrangement. - Just a thought.

There may be light shed.

Closed-periods apply 1 month before quarterly announcements and 2 months preceding finals/annuals. So, by my reckoning, directors will have a small-window of opportunity after the 25th within which to either buy or sell shares before the 1 month qrtly. restriction kicks-in again, covering the quarterly reporting period ending March 31st. - Watch this space.
