2019 guidance is scheduled to be announced on Feb.20th. It's been announced earlier than this - ergo - leaked. - That's my final say on it. - We seem to be tuned-in to different wave - lengths here.

Hi miz - I think I would have to disagree with you on the point that production-guidance is not critical information. - It's info. that is very market sensitive. - IMO

Closed-periods are applied 1 month preceding quarterlies and 2 months preceding Annuals. - Since almost 7 weeks of the 1st qtr. will have passed by the time Annuals are announced (20th Feb.) there will only be a week or so left before the closed-period covering the 1st qtr. kicks-in.- So, if my conspiracy/ramping theory is correct, there will be no more than a couple of weeks following 20th that shares can be offloaded for this qtr. at least. - Mind you, after the Q1 there will be a 2 month window to offload and so on and so on. - There's just something niggling at the back of my mind that is asking the question 'Why did they hint in December and follow-up in January with the same announcement'? - My cautious/untrustworthy self is telling me there must be a reason. - So, I'm sticking my neck out and giving you all an opportunity to knock me for six. :-)- I'll bet you can't wait. :-)

Hi mizolgit - Yes my understanding is that a closed-period of 2 months is in place prior to 'Annual reporting'. - The company chose not to provide guidance in the Jan. prelims, which is the norm, but instead to include 2019 guidance in the Feb annual report. So, clearly, it's an important piece of information to the extent that they have delayed it's announcement until then. The gripe regarding lack of communication was primarily aimed at the weekly shipment-news that we used to get and for some unknown reason was stopped. - I take your point about the 4.05p rise. :-) - Let's see what comes out of it all and then we'll make a judgement. If there's no more off-loading of shares then my ramping theory is totally wrong, which by the way is what I expect. - Let's see.

Well, we held on for a narrow win today, all be it in the last over. - Nevertheless, a blue-day is better than a black-eye day. - Psychologically, a win today was an important turning-point I feel.

Hi Tibbs -According to todays announcement, not only is the LHDR on site, it has also been commissioned. Also, with regards to grade, if I've understood correctly, they encountered a much higher volume of lower-grade that had to be mined/shifted in order to gain access to the identified higher grade stratas. - Part of underground mining it seems, there's no way around it. - But staying within the parameters of Centamin and the forces and influences connected with mining gold, I think it's reasonable to assess todays announcement as cautiously encouraging and if this encouragement is supported by a positive 'Annual results' in February we could have the makings of a rewarding year. Notwithstanding that if POG also takes-off , then it potentially has the makings of an exceptional year. - IMO.

Well, a steady as you go message with no veiled warnings attached. - As mizolgit has said, what a relief. - I think we can interpret the message as saying - 'We have weathered the storm' - 'Hoist the mainsail, set course for the future' I won't get carried away but rather await Feb. 'Annual statement' and 2019 guidance. - When interviewed in December Josef El-Raghy indicated 544-560 ounces for 2019. We'll soon know and if we encounter another storm, let's hope it's the 'Perfect storm' where a healthy production guidance for 2019 is announced along with exciting news about BF and CdI. :-)

I have a feeling we might take a hit tomorrow. - Going on the uncrossing data there's clearly some hefty selling orders on the books to be filled. - At least we've built-up a bit of a cushion over this last week to help mitigate any adverse reactions. - Always a chance of course that I've misread the tea-leaves here. - I hope I have.

Thanks OldRascal - I note the 'Pylons' in the photograph. - I'm thinking they carry high-voltage, feeding sub-stations along the 60mile route, from where lower-voltage is supplied to run the assets required for the functioning of the conveyor. - I have a feeling we might see similar infrastructure in connection with Sirius. Although pylons might not be an option in the NY moors national park. - I wonder how they would cope with the transmission of high-voltage and the safety implications.

You've done well with your explanation in your post. - I'm even more intrigued as a result of your analysis. - I might be wrong but it seems to me that a power-generation station will be required in the overall scheme of things. Maybe several. - Synchronising the system will be a challenge I would have thought. Then again, the whole project is challenging.

I'm assuming that the 23m underground conveyor system will be powered via electric motors. - Does anybody know how many motors will be involved. - I should imagine it'll be quite a lot.

Don't forget the overhanging CC makes it almost impossible for a takeover to take place. - There would have to be legal certainty, which there isn't. IMO

Today's volume 9.45m - Yesterdays, 4.99m - So, just about double the volume today but still not breath-taking volume. - As I suggested earlier, there may be a shortage of shares. - This is up to the MM's of course to try to manage this situation. - If there is a shortage due to absence of sellers, it should be good news for the SP.
