It seems I was correct in my assesment, a 22% increase was always going to be a big-ask. - We'll have to wait and see. - If it all turns out to be an excercise in smoke & mirrors, as last year, it'll take more than an 'Investor presentation' to restore confidence this time. - We'll have to wait and see how the numbers stack-up. If however Q3 is lower than Q2 it'll put a helluva strain on Q4 to make-up for it. - Unfortunately, it looks as though the caveats contained in my recent posts are beginning to materialise. - I've been half-expecting some sort of mine-incident to create an excuse for missing targets. At least they haven't resorted to this tactic. Not yet anyway. - One straw to clutch is that September output is increasing.

Good to have Tibbs involved. - What many don't realise is that Tibbs's harrying of Centamin's PR, his dogged determination in seeking answers, has, in my opinion, led to the changes we are now seeing and appreciating in the new-look Centamin.

Yes Sotolo, the near doubling of the SP, sadly however from a collapsed base rather than a consolidated high. And this has been the problem for LTH's. - It means we are running just to stand still. It has become very difficult to build on success with any lasting effect. - Recoveries/rises have been short-lived, ephemeral if you like, only to be replaced relatively swiftly by collapses. The snakes have been in the ascendency. - IMO

First reactions: - On the face of it, it seems odd to not have a set standard of contractual arrangement. - If I'm understanding, it's a floating-arrangement depending on an assesment of fair-value. - Who decides fair value? - How is it decided? - Obviously time will tell when everything becomes clearer. - One thing that occurs, those on the 'Inside-track' could well manipulate the elasticity for their own ends. A cynic might say it could well be the reason behind the initiative. - Centamin's reaction will reveal much I feel.

When to buy, when to sell, the keys to unlocking the secrets of investing. - If only we knew. - It's subjective in the the sense that only you can decide and none here can advise, certainly not me. - Regarding knowledge of Centamin's operations, production, grades etc., we only find out these days through quarterly reporting disclosure. - I think I speak for most when I say that generally we are in agreement with this arrangement. - It is the new arrangement, the new Centamin if you like and so far I believe there is general satisfaction with this new direction..

Yes, it would be strange if after all the trouble they've taken to look, listen and take advice, with the objective of making Egypt a commercially attractice pace to do business , they then just stick to their old principles. - As you suggest, the devil will be in the detail, so we'll have to wait for the devil to speak.

Difficult to know. They are not issued as a matter of course. Certain situations require that an RNS be issued, but until such times and such events it's not possible to say. - If there's no triggering event meanwhile, I expect the next RNs will relate to Q3 results sometime in October.

Any ideas anybody as to what's spooked the SP today. - Can't find anyhing that might explain.

Comments on Sawiri's comments: I'm trying to work-out the difference between production-sharing as a bad thing and royalties based upon production as a godd thing to replace it. It's production-sharing by a different name isn't it? - A 20% royalty on production is the same as taking 20% as a share of production. - Am I missing something blatantly obvious?

I see HGM experiencing a goodly rise today on the back of some impressive H1 production/profit figures. - This could be in store for CEY on the back of good Q3 figures. - Q3 will confirm, or otherwise, that the direction and rationale outlined in their forecast is in fact playing-out. - H2 requiring a 22% uplift over H1 means that Q3 will have to be on target in order to meet forecast. An increase over Q2 of course will be the first requisite and should be well received, however, an increase below 22% will place great strain on the final Q that will be burdened with the task to not only increase by at least 22% but also to make-up any shortfall. - A big ask IMO. - On the other hand, if Q3 can come in above 22% increase then the burden is lessened and it makes the likelihood of hitting target more certain.

Hi Tiger - I wonder if 'Lord of the Ringers' is still going? - Not heard anything. - Just a point on the proposed two-part arrangement. Exploration/Production. - Presumably there will be fore-knowledge of the expected T&C's applicable to production arrangements. You would think this would have to be known before embarking upon an expensive exploration venture.

Glad I made you smile. - My comments were after all posted in humour. - However, it is true that I served in the second world war. - I served as a child, me and my sister and every other child of the time. - We had a job to do supporting our Mothers, who in turn had to keep things going at home where husbands and fathers were away serving in the armed-forces. It was an important role and they hardly get a mention. Unsung heroes all of them. A comment on Supers recollections of his Royal Marine Command uncle serving on a landing craft repelling Germans on the beaches at Dunkirk. - If my memory serves, Royal Marine Commandos were not formed until 1942 and landing--craft came much later. - I think he might be confusing Dunkirk with D-Day which came 4 years later. -

Meant to say countries with the problems/conditions that you have experienced in your travels. Without naming specific countries at this time, I can tell you that interest is broad and strong. - Watch this space.

Indonesia has already picked-up the baton in respect of K....... - A lot of development has gone into the creation of a template to allow Indonesia to adapt and adopt. - It's a plug&play design that can easily be adopted/adapted for most countries. - There is already a sizable growing interest by other countries looking at the possibility of it's introduction into their own systems. - Many of them developing countries with the problems/conditions that have experienced. - Potential to be a massive game-changer in monetary-history.
