Oke I agree, very dissapointing performance all around.

The worrying this is margin is dissapearing as we are having to be even cheaper to just compete and we are still losing revenue/market share.

Only hope here now is a full blown takeover, like I have mentioned before if Sequiona capital take a stake here and Ashley starts to broker a deal with Shein this could get back to £1.

I think the fundamentals are moving in the wrong direction. Debt is increasing and sales and profit is decreasing never a good sign.

A high growth company is now moving to declining growth and falling profit margins.

Mahmud isn’t going to like playing second fiddle to Big Mikey. Let’s see if he retaliates next week. Could be just desserts for the REVB fiasco

Hoping the end is near with John Lyttle he has been a complete calamity since taking charge! Could really do with some of the talent from NEXT.

Big investors of Shein Jeremy!

The last time this hit £1 was the Beta rumour of a possible takeover. Things could get a bit crazy if Sequoia Capital take a stake here at these levels.

Something is brewing here, this could easily multi bag from these levels with another investor looking to muscle in on Mike.

Debenhams does provide us with a great opportunity. If we can mirror NEXT's total platform which gives third party access to Next's marketing, infrastrucutre and internal operating systems with Debenhams it could be a huge opportunity.

Next have worked wonders and in 3 years that segment of the business has just generarted £28m in the last finanical year. Incredibly impressive.

Vultures are circling. MA now has a larger holding here than ASOS (Physcial shares( note a large chunk of ASOS holding are options

When you read this statement https://www.nextplc.co.uk/~/media/Files/N/Next-PLC-V2/documents/2024/half-year-results-july2023.pdf and then read BOO’s it is clear there is a vast difference in the quality of management and direction of these companies.

Unbelievable performance and a clear vision from NEXT. I could see them hoovering up BOO and ASOS. They have cash, lots of it and the ability to quickly turn both of these companies back into profit making machines!

Back in 2020 we had complete dominance of the online fashion space. Utilising influencer marketing (Love island stars) predominately, cheap labour (we will not go into that) a small number of brands and very limited competition for online fashion sales.

Everything seems to have changed here in 2023. The Leicester scandal have forced production costs through the roof. Most companies are now omni channel with a heavy spend on marketing in the online space. Love island has lost its potency and we are struggling to find decent online influencers that aren’t already tapped up by other brands or don’t demand huge pay checks.

I hate to say it but I think we have lost our USP and are struggling to compete with the big hitters in the UK and that’s not to mention Shein.

The business is far bigger in size and revenue but it’s gone from making a chunky profit to now operating at a rather sizeable loss. This includes spending more on marketing to get the same result of sales and at a smaller margin to compete on price.

The pandemic has both been a blessing and a poison chalice for BOO as many companies have entered the online environment and crowded our market.

It’s going to be interesting to see if we can positively navigate through this or otherwise this could be big trouble for BOO. Something rather drastic needs to happen to turn this around as the shorts are having a field day at our expense!

Shorts throwing the kitchen sink at this now, good news is this is standing strong and has barely moved all week. This could spike like Ocado if the bottom has been reached and we get enough buyers!

Shore are one of the only positive ones on BOO.

When this will turn we will be in the right place to capitalise. It was clear from the conference call they have been overly cautious with stock as they do not want to get caught out like ASOS. We need to find a price point that works for us as a business. We should let Shein take a share of the cheapest tat available and go for a step up. There is still a large market for BOO to work with here. The cheapest price point customers can't be very profitable to work with let's face it.

Change of direction needed, we need to not focuse on competing with Shein with prices but offer a better quality product/service which keeps our customers returning.

Awful start again…

Black trading appreciate the honesty fella. I called this very wrong too. I have an average in the 80s and even that feels a million miles away now…things can turn quick but this slide feels relentless. I am praying the bottom is in as this is getting extremely painful. Every time I think the tide is beginning to turn we hit and consolidate at new lows!!

Whats level 2 saying Jeremy any chunky guys in there today? LOL
