Googling Autoflame/Hydrogen/Nottingham yields no results so I'd suggest that they're not our partners at all. It's just that MR is talking at an event they're involved with. Struggling to see anything to get excited about there.

In what way are they our 'partners'?

It really puzzles me why you feel the need to be so definitive about things that we clearly don't know for sure.

One thing we do know for sure is the the price of the fuel cells was uncompetitive until (at least) recently, and one thing we don't know is anything about the detailed terms of the contract. Put those two things together and it's hardly a guarantee that things are up and running. I just hope the relationship is still alive, and there seem to be signs that it probably is.

I do not KNOW that. The year old RNS talked about early 2025 - we have clearly gone past that with absolutely no news on the subject. You have posted multiple times about them already having been integrated and it has been pointed out multiple times that there is zero evidence to confirm that. Only last week you posted about the subject and it clearly had nothing to do with our cells. It seems a perfectly reasonable assumption that the cost issues have stymied (not necessarily scuppered) the deal and as we have no clue as to what the original terms were that's clearly a possibility.

As you know, CN, all of those are very likely to be dependent on getting the cost of the cells down. Typically you posted about Nifty only the other day but it clearly wasn't using our kit.

As far as funding goes there remains a clear possibility that additional funds will be needed at some point over the next year. Of course we don't know - for those that have forgotten the whole point of boards like this is for debate - but it does seem likely.

We can't possibly point to anything that suggests revenue in this financial year (since 1 November) is going to be material. Beyond any pennies that Speedy is contributing we're only talking about grants and a few bits and pieces from Acciona. Maybe Tamgo will come good but that's gone very quiet.

Despite CN posting links about Nifty which clearly have nothing to do with our arrangement with them there is nothing to suggest that relationship will bring funds in imminently, if at all. The JDA partner is going to fund development relevant to them but we have no clue what percentage of overall spend that covers.

So grants? Well, maybe. Anyone's guess.

I just cannot see how a 2/3rds price reduction on a product that took years to get to where it is can be achievable in such a short space of time. I could be wrong and I hope I am.

I said at the time of the investor presentation from Bullard and Rendall that focused on the cracker and pretty much ignored the fuel cells that it felt like they were almost writing them off and I don't think it's unfair to conclude that I had a valid point.

Rendall also had a touch of the Bonds at that meeting - he said the cracker was pretty much available for delivery, but it doesn't really look like that was the case.

Quite clearly there is cause for optimism now but when the likes of Ade and CN start ramping it up (£5 a share!) I'm going to stay in touch with the real world.

Acciona appear to be committed to greenness - but, I imagine, not at any cost. And we all know now that cost for stand-alone fuel cells is a huge issue that isn't getting resolved this week or next.

This is the wrong way round!

It is the big company that will know what demand is - because they have actual clients! They know they need to find a solution to meet that demand and have sought a way of meeting it - they appear to have settled on our process as a means of doing so.

An S&P 500 company hasn't relied on AFC's marketing and sales teams to generate leads!!

What some fail to realise (or choose to ignore) is that this isn't an official site. How they get away with calling it LSE beats me.

None of us really know why the cells were so expensive but we did have a manufacturer on board (Zollner) to help with scaling up and clearly that hasn't solved the issue so far. This does suggest a fundamental design issue rather than just scaling - but maybe there's a solution somewhere in hand

There is an odd dichotomy at play here.

When Hyamtec was established as a separate (but wholly owned) entity it appeared to be the case that the fuel cell business was ready to go and become a material supplier to industry. That clearly wasn't the case and still isn't unless and until the cost of units can be made competitive and news is awaited on that point. I'm struggling to believe that the necessary 2/3rds cost reduction can be achieved within any reasonable timescale.

Now, it might be the case that AFC can deliver on its whole package from cracking - supply- fuel cells, but that doesn't appear to be relevant to this agreement - so where does that leave AFC (ignoring the fact that it/we still own Hyamtec? It clearly isn't an impossibility that the partner would swallow the cracker tech whole.

I think it's fair to say that the new management getting something like this out there within 6 months of taking over can be described as 'swift'. Who knows, we don't and probably never will, whether AFC were already engaged with whoever it is but very clearly the new management have established enough credibility with a major partner to get the JDA in place. That is significant.

Come on Daz, Bond has gone. The past is the past - he was wildly over-optimistic on multiple fronts and that is why we are were we are having been where they were. I think the new guard deserve the benefit of the doubt at this point. Doubts obviously remain -that's the nature of things

Those, with hindsight, silly price rises were when there was a bubble in the sector. Times have changed and hard news is needed to move the needle now. Yesterday's news was a hugely positive step in the right direction but hard news it isn't, yet. For it to be that we need confirmation that revenues ARE flowing (and clearly that is a way off yet) or are all but certain to flow imminently. I don't know why the partner cannot be named but I imagine that is their decision and they will have a reason for it.
