To be fair, he was pointing out the risks here. He was just sure they wouldn't pick up the jobs like this that they needed.

I toyed with selling into this rise....but equally wondering if I buy a slab more as this is a game changer. They have the backlog now to (maybe) start paying down some debts but certainly to secure capital (IF they need to).

Presumably big boys have had to regularly update the value of their investments so have already taken a loss and a sale is profit at this point.

Happy, what are you on about? The headcount? In a reimbursible business the headcount increasing is a good thing! It means more revenue. And it only grew by 8%, whereas revenue for 2023 estimated to be 10% higher.

It's clear you want your quick buck but as an Aberdonian, a planned LTH and even though I would do very well if it went through, I don't want this sold for a dime at a low point in it's history.

I guess my previous post factors into wjy I don't want a sell. Backed up by some of the other c9mments. We are at the absolute bottom of the cycle with the price here. Everything at a low. Interest and inflation effects, exchange rate, current EPC and energy sector spend cycles.
Sell, by all means. But sell at a high, not a low of everything!

Inflation surely helps going forward. You have to remember, most work now reimbursible again. So ship steadied a lot and rise in cost, means rise in revenue. Same margin but bigger numbers I guess.

I really hope not. If they did, realistically, what would they raise? Look at market cap and any issue would have to be at a significantly reduced rate. Would barely tickle the surface in the grand scheme. And after perfomance of bonds to date, doubt they'd find many takers there even @15%, a cost of capital which would kill their chances of winning any capital intensive work.
They have some cash and some incoming. Obviously also some outgoings that has to cover so fingers crossed for the results. A few eyes will be on that liquidity figure and a few others like backlog. If both are down, I may have to take the tip of a pinky off and run for the hills.

These are known indeed but over time, the situation has and is deteriorating.

I will be waiting for the results before making any more moves anyway....in or out.

I am basing my decisions on the accounts and watching events very closely for last few years.
I still have skin in the game but I am starting to worry about where this is headed.
I considered both sides of that claim amd I came to a conclusion of plausible based on the issues we have been discussing here for past week. Liquidity, assets and debts don't look great. A cash raise problematic and rereading the LSE rules, they need to prove cashflow is sound for 12months before even attempting one....again, an issue.

I just hope there are more small awards and growth on existing contracts to show the backlog hasn't declined again.

Nobody has really been able to justify why this rumour couldn't be true. Only ridicule the poster.
Because of the current state of play, assets, debt, bond price, liquidity, everyone is rightly nervous!

The thing making me sad about it all, is the number of UK companies in this state at the mo!

I do my own research, spent a year with the golden drip of P. And before I went into renewables, I spent first half of my career at a competitor. At quite a senior level by the end.
And I can read a set of accounts.

Don't be too hasty to dismiss all the negatives. This company has some serious work to do to recover the price. The books minced after past few years.

There's a chance of recovery. There always is. But it needs someone to steer that ship and improve their tools, technology and position well in the energy transition pace.
They have to do that with a pretty hefty debt burden and high finance costs.

Snapper. I'm actually not going to argue. The risk here is huge and I could just be being foolish. But I do see short term upside potential here. Bound to be a final pump and dump if nothing else lol.

WG got me in the mood for a role of the dice.

I think it is overdone and will bounce back.

But they need those contracts sharpish. One thing has changed. They have continued to burn backlog without (it seems to me anyway) fully replacing it.

So time will tell. Either I've played a blinder, or I'm about to lose a couple of fingers. Thankfully WG should make me whole again. Sitting pretty there and day traded the swing over past few days and some of the winnings are now in here.
