I'd say 'The doric' would have a better claim at being 'proper' Jockanese than traditional Scots. It is a long spoken dialect which stems from old English and old Norse....that or Gaelic (I guess) would predate modern Anglicised or nowadays Americanised Scots.

Words like Braw (Norse bra) for good. Yer hoos etc. BBC Scotland did an excellent pjece on it not long ago. Apparently, Doric speakers can be understood in the Northern parts of Norway, where they also have a local dialect.

This time we agree! There are problems somewhere under the hood here. The SFO (and it seems others) attacks, bad estimates and trying to buy work in the past. Hard to tell if it is the case with this new job with available info. It is mentioned as a frame agreement which are often low margin but low risk. Their high cost of debt make those jobs difficult to win.

Next 6 months could be do or die. That note I posted about earlier pretty much says aa much. Was there not something about capital being locked somewhere and if they can't get it out or soms of the other things they mention.....they either file or equity raise with next to no markrt cap......uh-oh.

I know I will be attacked for this post....but my honest assesment at this point.

They need to bag several cash cow reinbursible jobs on margins and payment terms that this companies debt can cope with!

Bonds not really doing much but looking at price and buy/sell. . . .not seen many buys.....don't think any since I started watching the last trade price.

Well...partly. There were a few other skeletons which came out and caused trouble during their reign, which weren't from their tenure. But the AMEC deal and decline (which to be fair was largely oil price related) then COVID... not an easy gig.
Still got a lot to answer for. Never dealt closely with either of them.....but equally, was hardly expecting great things when I heard they were taking control. Both seemed a bit away with the fairies and non productive in the roles they were in during my days.
Amazed this machine couldn't find a team to change course. Sure some of the onss they lost could have driven this in a better direction.

As an aberdoian, I really hope this is a case of selling off the cash cow to use the milk to feed the emerging calfs!

It wouldn't be the end of the world for me. Long term prospects I feel are still good here for a return and I'll come out the other end with more shares than I went in with, so...

Well it always helps when you are both in the money of course....albeit it is looking like he was right about it going through...things can get more emotional where there is a difference between big winners and losers...was a lively few exchanges but all in all well mannered. Challenging the points and not the man. So, respect to Happy and if we were in the pub, I'd shout you a pint for apologising. A rare sight on here and hardly necessary. A bit short but it was late after all!

So to me, either the leaky ship that is the city, knows more carnage is coming....or they don't yet know like us plebs and are waiting for more info on deal, terms, refinance. A bit of a question mark remains for me also on cost of finance.

No worries. I think we fundamentally have a similar view but strategies, entry points etc have led us to be on opposing sides of the coin flip at various times. Probably neither ideal but as long as it works and Wood has done me well, despite me wasting some of the winnings on PFC!

I put some back in today and just hope now Mary isn't right! Lol

Exactly aspers. Dragged down at the expense of PIs and siphoned off to big players hands at a low. Shame really.
