This is Robinhood's third attempt at trying to enter the UK market. Also, no UK stocks to begin with and no options or other derivatives. I wonder?

This is what they said about dividends at the last third quarter trading statement (17 Oct. 2023):

'In light of the Group’s profitability profile for FY23 and the 5.0p per share dividend paid for H1 23, the

Group today signals that any H2 dividend payment is not expected to be more than 1.0p per share.'

Payment of any H2 dividend will be subject to the customary regulatory and Board approvals.

It may be an uneventful announcement for the quarter ending 31 December, 2023 which may not be a bad thing as long as the business has stabilised which is probably the best we can hope for at the moment. February is the worst month of the year for people with cash flow problems so the first quarter of the 2024 should be more interesting.

On a day like today, you would be better off with JD Sports.

It looks like the major shareholders (institutional) are highly reputable companies with Aberdeen Asset Management buying in as late as November, 2023 so hopefully this bodes well.

To add to what Batmen posted, the JP Morgan share price reached an all-time high today so let us hope this is a good sign.

SimplyWallStreet have put a current fair value of 276 on VANQ. Some positive news could indeed elevate that number. I don't want to get into P/E ratios because they are open to interpretation anyway.

Casa, well done. I think you prove the point that any investment can be a good investment depending on when you buy and when you sell.

Tichtich, fair enough. Using the rule of 72, it will take you 10 years to double your money at just over 7% so that is not a bad return. Probably better than investing in property without the work, hassle of dealing with tenants, and outgoings.

At least it leaves us (or me at least) going into the new year with a slight optimism. Trading volumes are more or less normal so good luck to all. 2023 was not the best of years for this fund so hopefully that is behind us.

If you want to improve your return, I would trade the US markets. These passive dividend shares are okay if you can pick off the highs and lows. Otherwise, I would not expect any real growth.

The average target price is 474. These are often pie-in-the-sky but half of that would be good. Best to be patient for now.

And, if all looks stable at the next update in January, I am hoping market sentiment may carry this one higher.

There are large volumes with this share in general but some days are exceptional.

For what it is worth, BritishBulls is recommending a 'stay long' on this one. It may be one of the occasions where they are correct.

The government sold £1.26 billion of NatWest shares earlier in the year back to NatWest but there have been no reports of any sales since and, presumably, they will make an announcement. Hopefully, they will wait until the price is higher.
