We’re all looking forward to a raft of good news, but let’s guard against expecting too much from the August production figures. I’m definitely expecting good news on a well by well basis, but not a massive step forward on a field wide basis, that could well be next month’s numbers. Work is still ongoing and I understand it’s been methodical and time consuming - all positive, but let’s not get too ahead of ourselves yet.
That said, we’re in transition and heading in the right direction. SP still has us monumentally undervalued, but improving production and RBL news should see the market more comfortable with our immediate to mid term prospects.
I remain totally positive about my investment.

Anyone else been in contact with AM? Swapped e-mails with him last week (very open and helpful), but don’t want to badger him. He appeared extremely frustrated with the SP, but also very confident that all would come good......

See our foul mouthed friend is spouting off on Twitter again. My guess is this is just a tactic to help shorters out of their positions at a low price.
Enough of him though.
Clock is ticking on news arrival. My expectations are for an update on RBL indicating final negotiations at a very reasonable rate. I also think we’ll hear about production rises on several wells, but I’m not expecting huge field wide increases in August - up, but not by business finance changing levels. My understanding is that the remedial work has been successful, but time consuming. I believe Sept figures will be the ones that blow the doors off - although August figures should paint us a clear picture of progress being made.
So, I’m expecting some strong communication from AM, but maybe not the finished article. Or maybe I’m just aiming low to avoid disappointment!!
However, what do I know - I’m just a moron with the IQ of a park bench....

A very, very special lady. Regardless of you opinion on the monarchy, there is no doubting that she was an incredible servant to her country.

Exactly the sort of quiet, slip back day that could so easily be avoided by a short, simple statement (through a choice of media) that outlined the current state of play with the remedial actions. Done on a weekly or fortnightly basis, they could positively ‘manage’ sentiment. I just don’t see the issue with doing this.
It can make a stark difference when big news is expected to initiate a re-rate (IMO!). 50% uplift from 30p is materially different to a 50% uplift from 15p, as an example. Before I get slaughtered for that statement, I fully understand that it’s not as simple as that, but it does make a difference.
After the pain many LTAs have endured, I really think AM needs to step up on this.
Until the oil is flowing at the desired levels, communication remains King.
Happy with what is being done, but not with the lack of commentary.

Agreed, it would be hugely beneficial if AM was to try to ‘control’ this upward trend and not leave us vulnerable to another attack on sentiment, such as we all witnessed recently.
It’s not rocket science, it’s not expensive.

Meant to reiterate my belief that ‘communication is King’ at this stage of our transformation. We need to see very simply worded operational updates from COPL, in simple layman’s terms, explaining the fixes completed, under way and planned. It would make an immeasurable difference to our fortunes prior to the ‘big news’ items.
Does anyone have a direct line of communication open with COPL through which a request could be made?

Now up to ‘increasingly optimistic’, based upon the SP’s steady and upward movement, despite the absence of huge volume. It’s always been my hope that we’d sneak back up to a reasonable level prior to any meaningful news and a potential re-rate.
Looks like we have a few resistance lines to break, but as we take them out slowly we’re creating support levels. All good IMO.
We’re in a steady and strong upward trend now and, personally, I see no specific reason for this to change prior to RBL and production uplift figures.

Exactly my stance, Tilburn, unless underpinned by significant news. What we are witnessing is very encouraging. Patience required.

Agree with you on this Tonkin, we do need to avoid wild predictions at this stage. However, there is no denying that we’re looking far healthier than just a week ago. Too early to make wild predictions. Nothing wrong with hopeful optimism though..

GF, I’m seeing many people embracing an upturn in fortunes for a share that has been underwater for some time, but no huge increase in overt ramping. Positivity for a stock you own is only natural, as long as it’s realistic and measured. Just, in the same way, that questions should be welcomed as long as measured. The answer usually lives somewhere in the middle.

I’d very much welcome a rapid rise, Beesty, if it’s based on some material news, but not if purely on sentiment - ,as we know, can change quickly. So, rather a steady uplift to build strong foundations and support levels. Could be wrong (hope I am!!), but not expecting any big announcements today. So, steady as she rises, for now....

Not surprised to see a little difficulty in breaching 16p yesterday, but happy enough with a modest gain - I’d rather see modest gains rather than huge swings prior to meaningful news. These small ticks up, if continued, will put us us on a higher, sound footing when material changes arrive. Plus, a steady transition of shares from traders to sticky fingered investors will underpin any future SP rises and reduce the chance of them being heavily sold into.
Why have I moved from cautious optimism to hopeful optimism? Cause most of my perceived investment risks have reduced and I’m now genuinely hopeful of a serious re-rate over the coming months. Still some big ‘ifs’, but this is now offering a genuinely amazing risk/reward ratio and I do predict that we will see money arriving here steadily over coming weeks.
